Chapter 13 - I can't understand him

The school bell rang as I entered. Laughter and chatter filled the place.

It was something i can call : an ordinary school!.

Everything like the school I had attended in my past life, only much larger and grander.

The school was surrounded by tall, shady trees with a large fountain in the center courtyard. Benches were strategically placed under the trees to provide any heatstrokes.

The fountain was connected to several canals, and all those canals moved through the green area which can be considered an aoutomatic water gardening system, most of the trees were apple trees which i don't know the reason behind it.

At the center of the court was the school building itself which it was so massive you can barely see the end of it.

The building was adorned with intricate stonework and gold embellishments.

"If i was to stole all the gold that was used to decorate this building how much would i make?"

As I gazed up at the skywith the voices around me being silenced and I was lost in thoughts :

 "Hey guys Aldous is here!"

"Wow my dreams man! He's like an angel descending from the sky."

"Do you think he'll respond to my love letter?"

"Ah, here comes the selfshowy ."

I smirked knowingly. I was agreed totally with what the last kid said

Over the years, I had come to realize Aldous' excessive self-absorption was all for himself and to show all that he got. evident in his elaborate personal school service called the "Suspended Carriage," which magically moved without the need for horses or other animals.

Finally, as the princes's carriage landed on the ground and girls lined up before him, he greeted them with charm.

"Hello Mr.Baz! The today's weather is so good for walking isn't it?"

"Hey Aldous! Did you received my love letter?"

"Move out of the way shrews! I want to see my dear Aldous"

Aldoos was not only self-absorbed but also quite a play boy, effortlessly drawing girls towards him with his gentle demeanor.

But, who truly knew his real intentions besides me?

Despite that, he's really a good looking boy i give this to his fangirls.

 "Hey Angela!"

I feigned indifference... 'Hurry up and kill yourself now.'

He was coming toward me with his wide smile which only i knew it was from the a##-burn i gave him

"Why don't you come say hi to your older brother?"

He emphasized the word 'older.' Nervously matching his smile with mine, I replied, "Hey!"

One unsettling thing about Aldous is that unlike others, he pays terrifyingly close attention to me - even when Arina sometimes fails to notice my presence amidst the crowd; he always manages to find me. With a flick of his fingers the carriage floated back into the air and headed home.

"I told you this time you should come to school with me, " he said.

Aldous had always been asking me to go to school with him, and I didn't know the reason behind it.

lt's true that moving with Aldous would make me a bit more noticed and distance me from this strange situation. But I don't see this kind of attention as anything but trouble.'

"Sorry, everything happened a bit hastily."

Everyone in the courtyard was looking at us. My fake smile was fading.

"Now, if you let me, I have a class to attend."

I walked briskly towards the building. Aldous matched my pace with a single move.

"What do you mean by not acceptting your older brother's request?"

"I have no interest in going school with a narcissistic show-off like you. Now go to the schoolgirls who are waiting for you. Don't follow me anymore."

"Heh, maybe you're jealous of them?"

I scoffed loudly.

"That self-confidence of yours, if the cucumber had it, would've became a banana by now."

"Hey, do not try to see a cucumber as less than a banana. I personally prefer cucumbers to bananas."

"Your taste is awful, I've known that for a long time."

"What?"

I quickened my pace and increased the distance between me and Aldous.

"If Arina were to be instead of me, you'd always go to school with her."

Aldous's voice was so loud that I turned around in fear and looked back. We had entered the school hall and there was no one around. When I was reassured that the hall was empty, I looked at him angrily.

"Lower your voice, you maniac!"

"I like to speak loudly."

"Don't be a glue, Aldous. You should go to your class now, or you'll be late."

"Why you..."

He took a deep breath and looked away from me.

"Me What?"

"Nothing."

He turned away from me.

"From tomorrow on, I won't ask you to come to school with me anymore."

I looked at him leaving in astonishment. His shoulders slumped, and he dragged his feet on the ground like a zombie. I felt a little guilty about it. I guess I shouldn't have put him off like that. It's clear he's upset.

'Maybe it's better that I talk to him about it later.'

I quickly gone up the stairs towards our classroom. After that incident, I ate and slept as much as I could and tried so hard that one year later I was able to take my first steps successfully. And three years later I started heavy sports and training the martial arts moves I remembered from the past.

I didn't want this life of mine to be dedicated to the Yakuza and gangster world. But to protect Arina, I need to be in shape. I stopped when I saw a familiar face. she noticed me after galzing into my face.

"Hey you! You're in my class, right? I think you're from the Bazz family, but I can't remember your name..."

I looked at her with a poker face. Rezita, the only daughter of an important family whose last name I can't remember, was sitting on the stairs, panting. She wiped the sweat off her forehead with her hand and exhaled loudly.

"Shouldn't this damn school have a portal location? It's for Nobles, for goodness sake."

*A Portal location is a magical path that acts like an elevator and can move us over short distances.*

Even though going up these stairs was like drinking water for me, I could understand her. The school building is five stories high and our class is on the fourth floor. And the stairs that take us to the next floor are so long and numerous that there's a high chance of getting knee arthritis because of them. Rezita's weight also makes it easy for her to get stuck like a whale on

the beach.

"Why are you staring at me? Come on, help me."
