Chereads / Marrying Mr CEO: Be My Bride / Chapter 44 - CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

Chapter 44 - CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR

"Mr. Hult wanted you to have this", Marcus said to Lynn and handed an envelope to her before she could head to her room after breakfast the next morning... Alex had not shown up for breakfast, and Lynn, who was no longer used to eating alone didn't have much of an appetite...

She just wanted to go back to her room and stay there for the rest of the day, like she did every single day since she arrived at the Hult mansion, till she was told what was going to happen next in her life when Marcus stopped her by the stairs.

Lynn took the envelope from Marcus, her eyes filled with curiosity as she opened it and read the contents of it... it was an invitation to a bridal house owned by Vance Delarusso... and the invitation was addressed to her for a bridal fitting of her dress... it was just in a few hours... the wedding was fast approaching sooner than she had expected...

She looked up at Marcus and nodded... walking away and heading to her room to get ready for this bridal consultation... She assumed most brides would be overly joyed to have such an invitation addressed to them, but Lynn was quite the opposite... she just wanted to get the day over with; she was still trying to figure out her feelings... she had spent most of the night tossing and turning in her bed... her mind plagued with thoughts of someone... she had wanted to skip breakfast so she wouldn't get to spend twenty minutes in the same room with him, but when he didn't show up, she should have been glad, but no she wasn't, it made her a bit upset and she had no idea why...

Lynn made sure to pick out a pretty dress from the clothes that Alex had gotten for her since it was her first official outing alone as Alex Hult's new wife... she wanted to be in full character... she stared at herself in the mirror and sighed deeply... Was this how every single day for the rest of the year was going to be? Living each day feeling conflicted... she ran her hand through her hair and held it up... she then applied a bit of lipstick and was ready to go be the perfect bride...

Nathan was waiting by the car, all ready for them when she walked out of the house. He was standing by the door of the car with it opened for her...

"Good morning, ma'am", her assigned bodyguard and driver greeted; Lynn smiled slightly at him and got into the car... her eyes travelling out the window as Nathan drove out of the estate.... her mind reverting to the talk she had with Alex before he... His side? He wanted her to be on his side. Wasn't she already on his side when she agreed to marry him? She glanced at the beautiful diamond ring on her finger and sighed deeply...

"I will be waiting here, ma'am,", Nathan said to Lynn when they arrived at the bridal house... she nodded and held her handbag firmly in her hand as she walked towards the entrance of the beautiful bridal place... Lynn's jaw immediately dropped in awe as soon as she walked in and beautiful wedding dresses came into her sight... it was a breathtaking view and soon her mind started to build with anticipation of what her wedding dress would look like... "How may I help you, ma'am?" A young lady with a beautiful smile on her face approached Lynn and asked... "Oh,", Lynn said and brought out the envelope that was given to her by Marcus earlier that morning... the beautiful lady took the envelope and opened it, her eyes growing slightly wide as she read through it... "This way ma'am!" the lady said and started to lead Lynn to another part of the bridal house... Lynn followed her, slightly curious to know why the lady had reacted that way... it was probably because of Alex, she guessed...

The lady led her to a room that had a sofa in the middle and a small podium in front of it... Lynn assumed it was for the brides to show her family and friends their wedding dress, but she had no one to show...

The pretty lady gestured for Lynn to take a seat... Lynn nodded and took a seat, feeling nervous about what would happen next... would she be asked to choose a dress or had Alex had them pick the dress out for her already?

"I will be right back, ma'am. Would you like anything to drink while you wait" The lady asked, and Lynn shook her head. "I'm fine", Lynn said and noticed the name tag on the lady's clothes... her name was Adriana...

Lynn wasn't sure how long passed, but she was sure it was close to ten minutes when the door of the room finally flew open again...

"Hello, ma'am!" Lynn stood up when a man walked into the room with two beautiful ladies standing behind him... he wasn't especially tall, but perhaps average height. He had a unique style Lynn noticed... and he also seemed to be overly confident of himself, unlike her, who got nervous at any slight thing... she had to keep reminding herself to keep calm...

The man had a welcoming smile on his face as he approached her and Lynn could tell immediately that he was a hyper person... he seemed very friendly too...

"Good morning", Lynn greeted and took his hand that he had stretched out to her for a handshake...

"I'm Vance Delarusso... a pleasure to meet you... I've been expecting you! I'm finally meeting the bride of Alex Hult," Vance said excitedly and brought Lynn's fingers to his lips... Lynn was a bit taken aback by this sudden gesture but was able to conjure up a nervous smile... "Such a magnificent ring..." Vance complimented, when his eyes got a glimpse of Lynn engagement ring that stood beautifully on her finger...

"Thank you", Lynn replied, trying her best not to give out how nervous she was... vance eyes travelled behind Lynn, like he was searching for someone and lynn knew exactly who it was..

"Alex isn't here with you! oh, he is such a workaholic!" Vance shook his head when he noticed that Lynn was alone in the room and Lynn fiddled with her fingers nervously... she should have asked Joan to come with her but couldn't after what had happened between them... Joan seemed to be avoiding her...

Vance couldn't help but notice how nervous lynn becams when mentioned alex and he wished he had just shut his mouth sooner.... "You don't have to worry. I will make you the prettiest bride ever... Alex would be awed when he sees you," Vance promised, hoping that she will become less nervous ... Vance seemed like a nice person even though he was a bit too extroverted...

"Lia, take her to the dressing room, and Doris, come with me", Vance instructed quickly. Lynn was immediately led to the dressing room, where she waited for a few minutes before Vance finally came back... "I found a dress for you! I hope you love it," Vance said and left the room for Lia and Doris to help Lynn get the dress on.

"Sir!" James called out to his boss for the third time that morning and Alex's attention finally returned to the present... "What did you say?" Alex asked, and James sighed deeply... now he was worried; Alex was someone who took work important and hated distractions, but now he was the one who kept getting distracted. First, it was during the meeting and now... "I was asking if this date is convenient for your wedding,", James asked, and Alex took the tablet from James' hand and nodded... "Yes it is..." Alex answered... he ran his hand through his hair and let out a deep sigh... He had left for work earlier than usual so he wouldn't have to sit at the breakfast table with his wife...

"I think I'm doing crazy", Alex muttered, but James's eyes grew wide because he heard Alex's words... "What!"James exclaimed, and Alex sighed deeply... "or perhaps I'm crazy," Alex added and stood up... he picked up his jacket and put it on, leaving James completely confused about what was going on with Alex... But James knew for sure that it had something to do with the waitress who was now the wife of his boss...
