Chapter 32 - Thirty three

DAISY POV

Silvan's law firm looked simple and beautiful at the same time.

The building didn't have a lot of expensive-looking decorations but it still managed to look nice.

I clutch the gift bag tightly and walk over to the receptionist.

"Good afternoon madam, how may i help you?"

"I am here to see Mr Silvan."

"Do you have an appointment?" She asked.

"No, I don't."

"I am afraid, I can't let you in to see him without an appointment."

"He knows me, we are friends and he would want to see me." I try to persuade her.

"Madam, whether you are friends or not is none of my business, I can't let you in to see him without an appointment." She insisted.

"But if you could just tell him that Daisy is here, he would tell you to let me in."

"Madam, If you don't leave, I will call the security." she threatens me.

"It hasn't reached the point of calling the security, I am just telling you to call him and tell him Daisy is here."

"Madam, I don't care about your name, a lot of young girls come here and try to get in to seduce the boss. Enough of your pretense to be a friend, now leave!"

She had raised her voice and now people were looking at us and whispering.

I hated this kind of humiliation and embarrassment.

I stepped away from her desk and called Stefan.

"Hey, can you call Stefan for me, i don't have his number."

"Sure Daisy, what is the problem though?"

"I came to see him at his firm. I don't have an appointment, though, and the receptionist doesn't want to let me see him. So can you call him?"

"Sure, I will do so now."

"Thanks, Stefan."

"You are welcome, sis."

I sit down on a chair in the lobby and wait for the result of Stefan's call.

One of the security comes to me.

"Madam, I am afraid I will have to ask you to leave"

"Why? I have not done anything wrong"

"We do not tolerate loiterers at all, the receptionist already reported that you were making trouble."

"I wasn't making trouble at all."

I was shocked at the blatant lie the receptionist had told him.

"I didn't cause any trouble, all I did was request to see Mr Silvan, and when she told me to leave, I did. How am I a loiterer?"

I tried to explain myself, but from the look on his face, it seemed I wasn't making progress.

"Madam, please leave." he grabbed my hand pulling me up from the chair.

I struggled with him.

"Please let me go."

The receptionist came to meet us.

"How shameless can some girls be? Are you so desperate to land a rich man that you would make a nuisance of yourself?"

She asks me, a malicious sneer on her face.

"What kind of nonsense is this, is this how you treat visitors?" I asked her.

"Well you aren't a visitor but a loose girl here to make a nuisance, so forgive us if we don't treat you like royalty." She replied.

I was starting to doubt if apologizing to Silvan was worth all this.

People were already whispering and gossiping.

"What is going here?" a newcomer had joined the fray. To my relief, it was Silvan.

"Let her go this instant," he ordered the security.

The security released me immediately.

"Daisy, are you okay? Did he hurt you?" Silvan asked, looking at my arm in concern.

"I am okay."

"Why didn't you call me?"

"I didn't have your number, so I called Stefan."

He turned to the receptionist.

"Why didn't you let her in?"

"She didn't have an appointment, sir."

"Did she tell you she was a friend of mine?"

"Yes, but I thought she might be lying, it wouldn't be the first time someone has lied to see you, sir." She defended herself.

"I see, so did you at least call me to confirm if she was lying or not?" he asked her.

"No sir."

"I see, so what was the cause of the whole matter here?" he asked the security.

"The receptionist told me she was being a nuisance, and I came to tell her to leave."

"And did you need to grab her hand roughly?"

The security looked down and didn't say anything.

A new person came to join us.

"Mr Silvan, is there a problem here?" he asked.

"Yes, these two people have behaved extremely unprofessional today. I want them fired."

"Of course Mr Silvan."

The receptionist and the security fell to their knees.

"Please Mr Silvan, I am sorry it will never happen again." The receptionist pleaded.

"Mr Silvan, please I was just following orders." The security pleaded.

"Someone with common sense should have questioned the orders but you choose to act blindly," Silvan told him.

"I am sorry sir"

"I am not the one you should be apologizing to." Silvan pointed at me,

"She should be the one that you are apologizing to."

They looked in my direction, I remembered how the both of them had treated me.

"I don't accept your apology, neither do I care about whatever happens to your jobs. It's up to your boss to do whatever he wants." I tell them.

They turn to look at Silvan.

"I haven't changed my mind, you are still fired."

He turned to the man, who had just joined us.

"Handle their severance packages and make sure they are out of here in less than an hour."

"Yes sir."

"Let's go to my office, Daisy," he told me.

"Okay." I followed him to the elevator, and we went to his office.

"Please have a seat." He gestures to one of the chairs in the office.

"Thanks." I sit down.

"I am sorry about what happened Daisy, I am sorry about their unprofessional character."

"It's okay, Silvan, it wasn't your fault," I assure him.

"So what can I offer you?" he asked.

"I am okay Silvan."

"Are you sure?"

"I am sure."

"So what brings you to my office today?"
