Chapter 1 - Chapter-1: Unwanted Dream

Crackle... Crackle...

.

.

.

A crackling sound came from. The dog looked back, it's tail wiggling in curiosity. Taking a few steps forward, bent down and sniffling the ground. The metal plate on it's collar slide through the road as it continued going, displaying the name Badgy.

Badgy, as she is, a curious German Wirehaired Pointer. She believes she will please her owner, lest her owner must give her away or throw her back to the dumpster where she found her from.

In a rhythmic manner, she jumped over the black abyss under her, sticking her tongue out, feeling the air. In a split second...

Splatter...

Thud...

Thud...

.

.

.

"Oh ow—!".

Panting out his inner demise. He looked around, stress visible on his face, palpable through his eyes. His pupils shrank to the point of disappearing. Rubbing his eyes, he looked around the room. Placed one hand on his chest, feeling his heart beat and calming down.

Huff... Huff...

But his senses rang through the roof again, only one word in his mind,

"No, Badgy!"

He pulled the door open, not wasting one second. The Dog raised up her head to look at who it was. She stood up from the matt she was sleeping in and jumped up to him, onto his arms. Wiggling her tail and trying to get a lick of his face. He let out a soft sigh of relief.

Even in a profession where men can lose trust in their peers, dogs never leave them.

Badgy's heart beat at a firm pace, he could feel it sticking his ear up to her chest, nudging the dog closer.

Boom...!

With a low bang and bright flash thunder fell roaring down the sky. Raindrops started falling down on the soil, the muffled sound of buzzing from the raindrops would very much rang the ears to soothe.

He came out to the balcony, extended his hand out feeling the cold water touching against his skin. He looked up the sky, darl clouds clouded it with each passing moment as it started raining even harder.

He kept Badgy down on the floor, she barked at the rain. He softly scratched her head, sending her away. Leaned on the railings of the balcony and looked outside. His heart calm as a soothing breeze of air and gust of wind blowing a gust of wind blew against him.

"Hm... strange. What a bad feeling to have in such a delightful weather..."

Yes. As the sky kept getting darker, it grew colder. Even so, that coldness gave a warmth to his heart he always wanted to feel, anyone would want to.

'Now that I think about it, No. I don't want to know about it. It's just a dream, I believe dreams don't hold any meaning, specially dreams such as that...'

He pondered to himself. Actually, it is something to ponder about eventually. The dream he had was something he never expected he would witness, even in a subconscious world.

He dreamt about his beloved companion getting slaughtered, splattered to mincemeat.

Just thinking about it gave a chill down his spine. It felt even worse in such a weather. As soon as Badgu jumped over the dark, a huge hand grabbed her and squeezed her internal organs out, leaving only her puss and blood to mourn over.

He closed his eyes for a moment, calming his throbbing heart down once more. Earth's going to have a new Moon today, he thought and deciphered. To be Frank, he believed everything science had to offer, even longevity. He only had one way of interaction, whether it be logical, or it's nothing.

The rain grew heavier with each passing second. He looked up at the sky again,

"Hm, it's ridiculous, I can't even find a proper reason, it's just my ringing senses."

He once more had that bad feeling in his heart, even as rational person, he couldn't just ignore what his intuition said. He sighed shaking his head and went inside, closing the door.

'I just came out after getting freshed, I feel better now. Where did I keep my glasses? Did badgy take them? No, she doesn't chew on them thou-'

Boom...!

A bursting sound came from outside. It was huge, almost ear ringing, it was not even thunder. He bent his legs and immediately ran outside, opening the balcony door and zoomed his head out. Biting on his teeth, he saw the transmitter on fire, the fire slowly extinguishing out due to the rain. His pupils shrank more, this morning really is starting bad.

A man can have a bad dream, it's a normal thing, totally. But every single night, he had that dream. Almost every night, but, he still did not get used to it. The idea of losing Badgy was not pleasant to him at all.

"Dawud, breakfast is ready!"

"..."

Dawud hung hid head down and started walking down the stairs. He was just a ordinary teenager. Had his own way of living his life. Not much was known about the teenager until he tried to take his own life. Dawud was then kept under watch, under much more isolation. Day by day, he felt as if the walls of brick around kept closing in, feeling suffocated each passing second.

Claustrophobia…'

He closed his eyes and sighed, trying to make himself just forget about it, but it kept coming back. The memories of just being in that damp, dark room. Just because they had to keep an eye on him didn't mean he had to be locked up, but then again he did try to take his own life making their reason valid.

But then again, being locked the whole day… felt like forever… or for his entire life. He shaked his head, shaking that feeling off, because he was never locked up for his entire life, even though he was left conflicted on this matter.

He pulled out the chair if the dining table after reaching downstairs and settled himself down comfortably. He looked around, his expression dry and nonchalant, his black eyes as deep as the abyss.

The abyss, full of darkness that sucks one in, keeping itself some company. The abyss symbolises the trauma of his life, once he got sucked in, he couldn't just come out of it again.

He placed his thumb under his chin, thinking… and thinking…. And thi-

"As you all can see, the increasing number of deaths due to thunder has reached up to 3300. In the upcoming days we can see that-"

The TV got muted with a soft chewt sound. The man muting it was none other than his father, Irhaz. A criminal advocate of the

"Now now, let's dig in the breakfast, the TV's just going to be a distraction. You don't want that lump of meal stuck in your throat and come begging and crawling to the glass of water, huh!!"

His dad burst into laughter, not keeping any sense to himself. One of his Dad's jokes, laughing at his own jokes. How funny.

Dawud just rolled his eye at him, and looked outside the window, pressing his chun against the palm of his left, resting on it, on the table. His eyes scan the outside, a dark hue setting outside due to the bad weather. Even in the morning, it felt like evening. No. It was getting darker than evening.

His mother, a beutiful woman in her 30s. Mrs. Raidim. Placed the plates on the table and sat beside Dawud after pulling out a chair. Dawud, not caring to look at them and just digging in his food.

His dad raised his eyebrow, giving Dawud a skeptical look. Tapped his spoon on the table a few times and clears his throat saying,

"Mm, Son. Aren't you forgetting something?"

Dawud let's the spoon go, letting it fall on the plate with a ting sound and let's out a deep sigh. He then nods looking up at his Dad and raises his hands, gritting his teeth, he cups his hands and starts saying his prayers.

Painful…

It's so damn painful

Just stop already…

The man wanted to scream, open his mouth wide and roar out his pain, and relieve the pain that has been killing him. The pain on the back of his head, feeling as if a nail is being hammered in, slowly turning him a retard.

Upon looking up, it was getting closer, the blinding lights fell on Earth.

Clink… Ting… Crack…

The bottle of bear came rolling down the stone stairs, creating clinking sounds of the glass vibrating against the hard surfaced. With a final crack on the side it stops rolling. Lifting up his tired eyes, looking at the bottle, his face still a glimpse of sleeplessness and dread.

"UGH… it's, it's suffocating. Just kill me already—!!"

In a flash, the ground beneath vibrated, thunder stroke the land next to him in a boom. His heart thumped unnaturally as a moment despair, the cold, sharp feeling in his replaced with vague fear as realisation settled in of what could just happen.

His life was at hand, always was and will be the same. He could be dead in a moment! Just in an instant!

He looked up, at the dark, stormy sky. His hand pressed against his chest, clutching on it.

"You—! So this is your power?! You can finish me if you wanted, but kept me alive for… for…"

His voice lowered down more as gasps filled the air, heavy gasps, his hands slid up to his neck, breathing heavily, sliding his finger up and down his Adam's apple.

His eyes sparked as thunder screamed it's unmatched growl up at the sky, the darkness, the clouds lightning up the sky, as bright as day, rain and storm coming down with equal intensity.
