Chapter 7 - Chapter-7: Losing to the fall

It was all just empty. Void like darkness. Cold and strong wind pierced the skin. It pierced the skin of something, or nothing. It couldn't be identied, if that something, was a nothing or an animal or a person. The possibility of it even being an entity was doubtful.

A huge boom of a trumpet could be heard, following with a thrilling and muffled noise. The nothing was slowly becoming something as it heard the noise. The wind suddenly stopped, now it got all dark. As dark as it was, something started beating in the darkness. It was rhythmic and limited. Felt like every breath counted as a beat.

The void slowly started getting some light. It slowly became day everywhere, but not with the sun. Dim and low lights could be perceived from the surroundings.

Blink.

The surroundings got bright.

Blink.

It got brighter.

Blink.

It grew more bright.

And with the final Blink…. It was all blinding light everywhere. Ever so bright, the eyes would go numb. It was ethereal, pure. It was prettier than shining gold or diamonds. Heavenly pure light, flourishing everything it fell upon. It was terrifyingly bright. But then the brightness slowly reduced down.

The empty void was now a vast sky.

It became a normal sky, a clear vast sky. The Sun on it's usual spot. Casting it's rays all around. Only one thing didn't seem right. There were no clouds, not even in the far distance, it was an empty sky with no movement at all.

The something was not even flying, it just remained in the same spot. It was as if, that something was a part of the sky. There was no world below. And then it started falling. It fell slowly at first, but then speed up. That something had to chose someone to carry it. Randomly choosing a carrier, an avatar was one thing. But, being chosen by nothing was another, which would stir up havoc in the deepest of hearts. Imagine being born with nothing to carry.

Alas! That thing chose Dawud.

The thing was brighter than the previously shining light. Brighter than the vast, clear sky. A small dot in a sky of nowhere, no world, nothing beneath to rest. That pure, bright thing was something heavenly. It was reigning from the skies, as if a part of it, higher than it. It had no place to land to, to live at, thus never settling anywhere. It's will for resting signified it's fall, it's fall signified it's death in a timeless countless loop.

Thus, it had nothing else to do other than what it had to do above. Always doing it's job, never stopping, it was limitless. It the truest example of infinity. It had no end.

Or so it was?

Dawud opened his eyes instantly, he just moved his eyes around the scene. He froze in his place looking below, actually there was no below, the sky could start anywhere and end anywhere without error. He had a strange feeling, that if he moved, he is dead. The holy essence pouring in him, it first felt like lingering feeling in his chest. But as time passed, inside his body, over his heart it felt as warm hand wrapped around it softly.

The warmth slowly made the heart beat slow and warm. And then, the motionless sky started getting cold. There was no wind, but it bone chillingly cold. He kept his mouth shut tight and tried not to shiver. But his teeth started chattering. And then, the warm feeling in his spread out in his body, Dawud's body got warm. It battled the shivering coldness, the warmth radiated out of his body, it was so powerful that even the sky felt and started getting colder. The sky suppressed the warmth equally and then pressing it back in his body.

Dawud got cold once again, the bright holy light wrapping his heart like a hand felt it. It couldn't fight it no more. But then….

Dawud felt a jolt of power forming in his heart, it was aching but didn't cause any pain. It felt like it stuck in the heart, trying to get put by expanding the heart. Then he realised, he bit his lips knowing the more it expands, the inner pressure is trying to break, thus his heart will explode out the power.

It started throbbing heavily, deep pain could be felt from it. It was so painful that Dawud couldn't keep himself quiet, he silently grunted, muffled moans skipped his lips. His heart kept expanding, it felt blowing out in any instant. It bounced around inside him, holding onto it's organelle restraints. Dawud opened his mouth and shut mouth biting in a click, his eyes slowly grew red.

His hands were clenched, he just blinked multiple times, his vision growing weak. The pain increased, his chest expanding now. The cold in the sky made his body numb from outside, but it nearly didn't freeze which tortured him more.

Dawud counted it all, it is almost an hour now since he has been in that two sided torture. Once the pressure and heat inside him stopped growing, it stayed like that. Then all of sudden, it increased greatly, the pressure and heat trying to blow out of him all so suddenly made him hold no more and pressed his hand against his chest. Then it happened…

The power burst out, his heart exploded. The power surged throughout his body, it forced his mouth open and escaped out. Dawud shot out the holy light out of his mouth in a long breath, like a power beam shooting out from the mouth of a Canon.

After a long time, it slowly stopped, disappearing in thin air. Dawud couldn't feel his mouth anymore, nor his entire. He was spent and all of a sudden…. He started to fall.

He fell at rapid speed. The numbness disappearing as the strong and heavy wind coursed through him heavily. His arms, legs, mouth, even his skin flayed. But it was just the wind, no resisting sensation was felt due to the friction. It felt as if the wind tried to push him upward, but he still fell down at high speed.

Hours had passed Dawud was still falling down the vast sky, he never landed. It was truly infinite, who knows how is he still conscious. Sometimes he fell slowly, the wind felt way heavier and dense, and again, sometimes he fell way too fast for him to comprehend.

He couldn't keep his eyes open. Sometimes he had to keep one eye closed to keep the other open, or sometimes both or he just forced himself to stare down blankly. As he gazed down, and there was no land, just empty space. It was just the exact reflection of the sky above. He felt fearful of it, soon he realised the fall wouldn't really end any sooner… or maybe never.

But all of sudden…

He felt himself completely slow down, as if hitting the brakes and something froze him still in one place. He bit down on hid lips and waited for a moment. Then he slowly and carefully moved his hand down and moved it around, suddenly he could touch something. It was something solid, but never there, it felt foggy, cloud. Then there were huge white clouds, the clouds slowly filled everywhere. It felt like a ground to step his foot at.

He blinked and slowly raised his head back and his waist forward. He then carefully carefully moved his foot down, his foot hit something solid. He placed it there and sighed. His eyebrows flailing loosely as he let out a heavy breath. Finally! He stood forward and started breathing heavily. He could finally stand, he landed in a place. He couldn't stand for longer and fell back on his butt.

Dawud exclaimed, laughing like a clown. He was hopeless a while ago snd now he could finally land. He checked his face, grabbing and caressing it, he was alive! He thought he'd die a moment ago. He was sweating buckets. Dawud them sighed and fell on his back, collapsing on the ground and lied there.

But then, realisation crept in, he was in an unknown place, a devoid of anything other than this empty sky. "Is it even a sky?" Dawud came back to his senses and questioned, looking around carefully. His eyes darted back and forth.

'How did I get here? Seriously, the fall I experienced a moment ago… I don't feel anything at all…' he thought, looking at himself and them back at the front. It was an strange feeling. He didn't feel stress, nor frustration. He felt a tiny bit happy that he's fine, but now it is slowly going away.

'Wait… am I?" Dawud realised. He tried to breath fast, tried to be nervous, frustrated, but forgot how to feel them. He tried to be, tried to laugh. He raised the corner of his mouth, trying to smile. But the smile never reached his eyes. It was a fake one. He forgot how to be happy. He wasn't feeling anything at the moment. He slowly became less surprised as well, it felt as if the surroundings were familiar to him.

And then…
