Chapter 11 - cultivator's class

Later, Elen had asked his snorty-nosed friends at school and found out that "bastard" is the name given to kids who didn't have a father.

The little boy had thrown a huge tantrum at home after that, demanding to see his father. After all, for him, it was difficult to accept that all his friends had fathers while he did not.

The situation had worsened at home to the point that even Elena cried in front of her son.

At last, Gracy had told Elen that his father had abandoned him and that it was Elena who risked her own life to give birth to him. Due to her decision to give birth to him, she, once a lively and energetic young woman, was now confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life.

Little Elen was stunned upon hearing all this. Although he didn't fully understand what Gracy had said to the extent of an adult, he understood very well that his mother had endured a lot for his sake and felt sorry for making her cry over a man who had never even appeared before him.

From that day onwards, Elen never asked about his father. On the contrary, he would always get angry when someone spoke about him.

So now at the Memories Art Store, the only one with a positive impression of Raven was Elena herself; all the others, including little Elen, hated him to the core.

Inside the first-standard classroom of White Dragon Academy...

White Dragon Academy was a highly prestigious school in the dragon world, and only people with real status or exceptional academic performance could study there.

In that aspect, Elen had both. He scored full marks in the entrance exam, and he also had a high-level cultivator like Gracy as his backing.

"Hey Draven, you know, I heard from a senior in the second standard that a divine cultivator is coming to our school to give a class on magic. And guess what? First-grade students are asked to attend the class," a thin-looking boy with spectacles said to Elen, who was drawing a picture of a firebird on the back of his notebook.

This thin-looking boy was called Joshua. He was the second topper in the class and Elen's best friend.

Elen would usually address himself as Draven, as he thought Elen was a girl's name, so only people who were really close to him would use that name to address him.

Elen had a very sharp brain and could understand and remember everything with just a glance, so sitting in class and listening to the teachers' long teachings was an eyesore to him.

He would either spend his time drawing something in his book or discussing divine essence cultivators and magic with his spectacled friend. After all, in this world, becoming a powerful divine cultivator was a dream goal for every kid out there.

"Wow, that's amazing, Joshua. I was planning to take a holiday today. If Mom hadn't forced me to come, I would have missed this class," Elen's eyes lit up upon hearing about the divine cultivator.

Usually, only kids above the age of seven were allowed to start cultivating divine essence and become divine cultivators. When a child reached the age of seven, there would be an awakening ceremony under the supervision of a high-rank cultivator to awaken the power inside their divine bones, and after that, they would officially become divine cultivators, or simply magicians.

Joshua nodded while showing his teeth, of which only the front two remained, making him appear somewhat like a squirrel. "Hmm... I heard it from Joel of the second standard. You know his father is the vice principal of our school."

"Originally, the class was for the second standard students who had already awakened and become divine cultivators, but due to an accident, the divine master who was supposed to give them the class couldn't come, and the school arranged another master for their class."

"But after he recovered from his injuries, the divine master contacted the school authorities and offered to give a free class for the students as compensation for breaking his promise."

"Since we will also be undergoing the awakening ceremony in a month's time, our principal decided to give this chance to us," Joshua said while putting his finger in his nose.

"I love you, Mom. I know you are the best," Elen slapped his thigh excitedly. If Elena hadn't forced him to come today, he might have missed this chance.

Although he could always talk about divine cultivation and magic with Gracy, hearing about it from another person was also good, as becoming a strong divine cultivator had been his dream since he was barely able to walk.

"Hey, Mouse. Why don't you salute me when you see me, or did you become cocky just because you're friends with that girl Elen?" As Elen and Joshua were talking, the voice of a boy came from the classroom door.

The boy had a big frame compared to the other students in the class. Just standing in front of him was enough to make other children in the class look weak. He was looking at Joshua now and hadn't noticed Elen, as several boys were crowding around Joshua in an attempt to hear about the big news about the cultivator's class.

"Girl, huh?" Elen stood up from his desk with a dark look on his little face. If you looked into his eyes now, you would see the black pupils at the center of his purple irises glowing with an extremely dark violet color.

And the big boy who just called Elen a girl shivered upon hearing Elen's voice. Although Elen did not appear to be on par in terms of strength with a big boy like him, the reality was cruel. Elen's strength was simply off the charts; he had even beaten up a second-standard senior who was already an awakener a month ago for calling his mother a cripple.

He didn't even hesitate to swung his fist at the teacher's face, who attempted to separate the two fighting children. Since then, nobody dared to make fun of Elen's mother or try to cross paths with him.
