Chapter 17 - Myth of Gods

"Senior, if we consider a magician and a warrior, who is stronger?" Joshua raised his hand and asked a question that was now on the minds of most of the kids.

"Which one is stronger..." Alex pondered for a moment and said, "Well, that is a question with no definite answer, as throughout history, no one was able to completely suppress the other or prove their superiority."

"Let me tell you guys a myth I heard from my father when I was little. As most of you might know, our planet Celestia can be divided into 13 continents. Among these 13 continents, the biggest one is called the Mother World, which consists of 95% dense forest populated with different kinds of magical beasts."

"Mother World is also called the central continent as all the other 12 continents are located surrounding the Mother World."

"They are namely Demon World, Deva World, Fairy World, Forgotten Paradise, Dragon World, Sea World, Sky World, Technia, Beastia, Desert World, Angel World, and Heavenly World."

"There are humans living in most of these continents, but according to myths, the humans we see now are not pure humans, and that includes you and me."

Everyone looked at Alex in confusion, as what Alex had just said was equivalent to telling a pigeon that it is not a bird.

"Well, don't look at me like I am an idiot. This is a myth, and I am not sure if it is true myself. According to stories, there were more than 3000 planets like Celestia in this universe during the era of gods."

"For example, demons were actually people who belonged to the Planet of Darkness, while angels were the ones who belonged to the Planet of Light. Likewise, pure humans were the residents of the Celestia planet. Unlike people from other planets who were capable of wielding magical powers, humans of Celestia were warriors who used weapons like swords and arrows in battle."

"Then, the Great War of Gods took place in the universe. All of the 3000 worlds were destroyed, and the connection between gods and their worlds broke, sending the entire world into disarray. Slowly, gods started to disappear from the universe. It is unknown what happened to them at the end of the battle."

"The only planet that survived the Battle of Gods was Celestia, where pure humans lived. Among the other planets that were destroyed, some people from the 12 planets that were under the control of the strongest gods also survived."

"Since their planets were destroyed, they migrated to Celestia for survival. At that time, there were only a few people left in this universe, as most of the others died in the Battle of Gods. So, considering the survival of their species, all these people started to form marriage alliances with each other."

"Over time, pure humans eventually disappeared from the world as generation after generation passed. The humans who were not fit for elemental cultivation at the beginning started to evolve into a new race that was able to wield both magic and weapons at the same time."

"Thus, over the years, the 12 royal families of Celestia came into existence. These people, who had now increased their population and strength, attacked the forest of Mother World, which was densely populated by different types of magical beasts after the War of Gods."

"These battles continued for several years under the command of the royal families, and in the end, each of these royal families was able to clear a large portion of Mother World and establish their kingdoms there. These were the 12 continents of Celestia where we humans live today."

"The legacy of magicians is what was left behind by the people who migrated to Celestia from other planets. In a way, they are the legacy of gods like the God of Wood, Earth, Darkness, etc."

"On the other hand, the legacy of weapon bone arts was left behind by pure human ancestors, which can be considered the legacy of the Human God."

"You have to know that the Human God, who was also known as the God of War, was one of the strongest gods out there in the universe at the time when gods reigned supreme. So, we can't simply say warriors are weak compared to magicians. After all, the legacy of one of the strongest gods out there can't pale in comparison to other gods, right?" Alex asked with a smile.

Elen raised his hand and asked, "Senior, do pure humans still exist in this world? If we compare them, who would be better, the humans of now or then?"

"Regarding your first question, there are no pure humans in this world anymore. After the wars were over, the total number of people who survived from each planet, including Celestia, was so pitifully low that reproducing among species themselves was the only option they had at that time to maintain the existence of their species ."

"And if the myths are true, this is something that happened way back in time, probably around a million years in the past. This time period is something we can't even imagine normally."

"So, instead of saying they disappeared, we have to say that the 12 different species merged over time and became a completely new species over the course of these more than a million years."

"Now, coming to your second question, there is no actual data or evidence to say with certainty who would be stronger, but personally, I think the humans of now are superior."

"Think about it, if we consider the humans who lived on different planets at the start, they could only use certain elements, like people of the Marine Planet who could only use water or ice element magic. Similarly, people of the Planet of Darkness could only use space or darkness elements."

"But humans of today, whether they awaken or not, all of them have six divine bones in their spine, which could give birth to a mix of different elements. For example, some people could even awaken the two opposite elements of fire and water at the same time."

"Simply put, we have all the advantages they had as 12 different species in each and every one of us. So, the answer is simple: humans now are superior to those of the past," Alex said while massaging his temples.

Edward, who sat on the chair on the podium, stood up and asked the children, "If you guys have any more doubts, ask him quickly. He still has to explain the different elements to you."

Elen was about to raise his hand when he heard this, but Edward looked at him sternly and said, "If you are going to ask about something related to the mythical stories Alex was narrating until now, don't bother to raise your hand. I will give you his number; you can contact him after school or just go and ask your grandma directly. After all, the only thing she does at that art store is daydream all day."
