Chapter 16 - The Zephyr Empress(2)

"I myself had practiced a sword weapon bone art related to wind alongside my magic cultivation. As for the reason I lost to my old classmate in our battle, the reason is simple: he had practiced his spear weapon bone art more than I did."

"So this is my advice to all of you: even if you fail to awaken your divine bones at your awakening ceremony in a month's time, don't give up hope. It is not only the magicians who are at the top positions of Celestia; there are several pure warriors as well who didn't have any inherent divine bone by birth."

"In fact, if you look at any influential figure out there, they must have cultivated at least one weapon bone art. If you are only a magician, in a battle, the moment a warrior gets close to you, your death will be set in stone," Alex said with a smile.

Joshua raised his hand after Alex stopped speaking. "Senior, so are the magicians we saw on the internet who use weapons actually warriors who practiced weapon bone arts?"

Alex nodded. "Exactly. The reason no one told you about this or why it is not recorded in your textbooks until now is simply because you guys are still way too young to practice weapon bone arts. While a magician can start cultivation at the age of 7, it is recommended to wait until the age of 8 for weapon cultivation."

"If anyone has questions regarding what I said so far, you can ask. Otherwise, we will move on to the next topic." Alex looked around the students. After making sure no one raised their hand, he continued.

"Now, the second fear I had as a kid when I was your age was about the type of element I would awaken. Due to God's blessing, I awakened a pretty good combination of three elements: wind, lightning, and earth, which is considered impressive, even among the top figures of Celestia."

"Well, I was also praised by many people for being a prodigy back then, and I obviously got a little smug. Then, one day, I came to know about other powerful elements like darkness, light, and aetherion. There were also space and time, which were considered too overpowered to even exist as elements."

"I lost all my sense of superiority and smugness when I learned about the power rankings within the elements. I even thought there was no hope for anyone to stand side by side with those people who seemed to belong to a completely different world from the start of their journey," Alex said with a nostalgic look on his face.

All the students looked at Alex silently. Many of them already knew about the power rankings within the elements and the vast difference between some overpowered elements like time and space, so they were not surprised by his words.

Elen clenched his fist. Awakening elements like aetherion, time, space, light, and darkness were mostly dependent on genetics, and common people couldn't even dream of having such awesome elements.

Alex observed the ugly expressions on the faces of the children and laughed. "Hahaha... Don't be sad. If I talked about this topic, it's because I have a story to cheer you up.

"There are a lot of stories about pure warriors and basic element magicians beating the crap out of magicians who were born with these overpowered elements like time and space."

"One of them, which I can say with proof to you, is about someone many of you might be familiar with." Alex looked at Elen after saying this.

Elen looked behind him, thinking Alex was looking at someone else.

"Don't turn around, little friend. I was looking at you," Alex smiled at Elen, who pointed at himself with a confused look on his face.

Alex nodded. "Your grandma, Gracy Wilson, is known as The Zephyr Empress not only in the Dragon World but on the entire planet of Celestia. Do you know why?"

Elen tilted his head in confusion. He wasn't even aware his grandma had such a nickname.

Edward looked at the clueless Elen and said to Alex helplessly, "He already uses her name to be a little tyrant at school. If you tell him more about Gracy, I'm afraid he might try to sit in the principal's chair from tomorrow onwards."

Alex chuckled. "Well, achievements are meant to be known. Let the kids hear stories that will give them courage to move forward in their lives fearlessly."

He then continued, "Elder Gracy awakened only the most common basic element of wind at her awakening ceremony. People like her are already considered outcasts compared to elders like our principal, who awakened six different elements at the same class as her."

Edward blushed a little at being compared to Gracy but maintained a poker face in front of the children who were staring at him.

"But the name Gracy Wilson made waves throughout Celestia during a battle for a top-ranked treasure that took place in the Forest of Mother World. There were even Geniuses from various royal families among the people who participated in that legendary battle."

"Contrary to everyone's expectations, the one who obtained the treasure in the end was not a genius from a royal family, but Gracy Wilson, who had only a single wind element compared to others."

"She even beat up many talented geniuses who had talents for time, space, and darkness at that time with only the most common basic element: wind."

"It was this battle that earned her the nickname 'The Zephyr Empress.' Even people from the Sky World royal family, who were considered masters of wind magic, dare not boast about their expertise in front of her."

Elen had a stunned look on his face as he heard Alex praising his grandma. Although he had seen Gracy beating up many people, it was the first time he realized she was such an amazing figure.

Alex continued, "So, having only one element awakened or not awakening any element at all is not an excuse for being weak. My friend who nearly beat me to death and Elder Gracy are perfect examples of this fact."

"Also, the hierarchy or ranking we speak about within elements is total nonsense. If there truly was such a difference between elements at the same level, Elder Gracy wouldn't have been able to defeat many people with high-ranking elements like time and space using her most common and basic element, wind."
