Arianna descended the grand staircase to the dining hall wearing a frown. The soft glow of torches along the walls, which the omegas had just lighted, highlighted her expression, and when her father's met hers, he knew something was wrong.
"Father," she began, her voice neither friendly nor impolite. "Did Alpha Kade tell you anything about where he was going or what he planned to do? You two spoke before you came in."
Alpha Darius looked at his daughter with an indulgent smile. "He didn't share much, Arianna. He only said it wasn't something to fear, but that it was necessary for the sake of all the packs."
Arianna's hands curled into fists at her sides. "And you didn't think to stop him? What if this is a suicide mission? I have a feeling he's going with the Lycans. You know how stubborn he is, Father."
