The hooves of the white horse pounded the dusty path aggressively as Lyra steered the reins, leading it through the winding paths of the forest. Alpha Kade's body was tensing, but his strength was slowly returning. He was out of the wolfsbane that had poisoned him earlier and felt his senses return to their usual sharpness.
Lyra's eyes scanned the trees ahead, and she pulled the reins tighter. Mia was swaying slightly with the movement of the horse in her lap, but she was still unconscious. Alpha Kade stared at her, his hand brushing against her arm as he adjusted himself. "How far are we from the territory?" he asked Lyra in a voice that was low and almost a growl.
Lyra's eyes briefly glanced back at him, and a smile formed on her face, although it wasn't much visible due to the shadows trees cast on them, blocking the moon's light. "Not much longer," she said. "Soon we'll see the Pack's border."
