Chapter 1 - Naviga

Rain poured heavily on the earth, drenching the ground in water mixed with blood. Bodies lay strewn across the soaked soil, their lifeless forms mingling with the rain that washed away the blood from their wounds. Among the fallen, a lone woman sat upon a corpse, her face obscured by the long, blood-soaked strands of her white hair, which clung to her skin under the relentless downpour. In her left hand, she held a black sword. The weapon was imposing, around one and a half meters long, with a hilt of black inlaid with intricate red lines that wound around it, glimmering like veins. Just above the hilt, red gems adorned the blade, while a deep red line ran the length of the sword, from top to bottom, carved into the metal. Blood had coated the blade, but now the rain was washing it clean.

She had thrust the sword into the ground, using it to steady herself as she clung to consciousness. Her body was covered in deep wounds, her

once-white dress tattered and soaked, armor shattered and torn away. A deep, fresh cut formed an "X" across her back, blood pouring from the gash, almost as if it were the last of her life ebbing away. She seemed on the verge of death, yet she held her grip on the sword, defiant amidst the carnage.

She tried to get up but couldn't. She tried again, but still failed. On the third attempt, using all her willpower, she finally managed to stand. She staggered to her left side like a drunken woman because her wounds and fatigue, indifferent to the dead bodies her legs trampled over. She continued forward until she reached a large tree. Thrusting her sword into the ground with all her strength, she knelt there, breathing heavily. She took her storage ring in her left hand and retrieved a bottle of green liquid, holding it up as she looked ahead.

There was also a woman with red hair sitting under the tree, her hair scattered across the ground behind her. Her face held an otherworldly beauty, with black eyebrows and long eyelashes, though her eyes were closed, as if she were unconscious. Cuts marked her body, and her red dress was torn, exposing part of her chest. Her right hand was missing two fingers, and a shallow cut ran across her stomach, though it wasn't life-threatening. A gash was visible on her thigh, and numerous cuts covered her body. Her red armor lay damaged, and her sword rested at her right side. The blade was entirely red, from hilt to tip, with golden lines carved along both edges. The hilt bore no elaborate design, but a magnificent white snake was carved into it, its form depicted as if devouring its own tail. The snake's Scales were a brilliant white, with eyes that appeared a striking red. The rain washed away the blood that had covered her body.

The white-haired woman opened the bottle's cap with her mouth, then tilted it over to pour the liquid into the red-haired woman's mouth, helping her drink. She used about three-fourths of the potion on the red-haired woman, then withdrew it and drank the remaining liquid herself. The small amount left in the bottle was just enough to keep her wound healed small margin. Afterward, she, too, slipped into unconsciousness.

Then a woman with black hair appeared. She stands tall and unyielding, her presence commanding and austere. Midnight-black hair falls sleekly past her shoulders, framing a face devoid of emotion, carved into a look of resolute composure. Her silver eyes are cold and penetrating, like twin shards of polished metal, reflecting nothing yet somehow seeing everything. Those eyes hold a weight of wisdom tempered by countless battles, and a subtle, unspoken fierceness lurks within their depths. Her aura is one of hardened experience, a silent testament to trials endured and conflicts won. It radiates an intensity that both warns and captivates, making her a figure few would dare challenge.

She came to side of red-haired woman then took out another potion, this one a richer green and of higher quality, and poured it over the red-haired woman. Then, she took another bottle and poured it over the white-haired woman. Lifting both women onto her shoulders along with their weapons, she vanished into thin air.

When the black-haired woman appeared in town, she walked past the guards at the gate, who didn't even notice her presence. She moved through the busy inn, passing people coming and going without anyone seeing her. At the reception desk, where a young woman in her twenties sat, the black-haired woman ordered two rooms. Though she carried two women on her shoulders, they were invisible to everyone in the inn.

The receptionist told her the price was two magic stones. The black-haired woman took two magic stones from her storage ring and handed them over. In return, the receptionist gave her keys for rooms 54 and 55 and directed her upstairs.

The black-haired woman walked up the stairs to the second floor and found rooms 54 and 55. She opened the door to room 54 and placed the red-haired woman on the bed. Most of the red-haired woman's wounds and cuts had healed, and even her two missing fingers had been restored, thanks to the high-quality healing potion. The black-haired woman covered her with a blanket, then left the room and entered room 55. She placed the white-haired woman on the bed, her body also fully restored. Her face, however, remained hidden by a mask. After covering her as well, the black-haired woman vanished once again.

Three hours later, the masked woman opened her eyes—silver in color, like two beautiful moons, enchanting anyone who might gaze upon them. She tried to sit up but felt a small ache throughout her body from the recent battle. Slowly, she rose and looked around, realizing this was an inn room. It was likely her sister, the one who had been protecting them from the shadows, who had brought her here and placed her in this room.

She knew that most of her wounds had healed, likely because her sister had given her a healing potion, so she didn't bother inspecting her injuries. Unzipping her mostly destroyed white dress and white mask, she walked to the bathroom. It was small, with a shower, a water pipe, and a wooden bucket. She turned on the shower, and as the water poured over her body, a slight chill ran down her spine, refreshing her even more.also that time She called out in her mind, "Chip, show me status."

Pip, peep.

She looked everything over carefully. Just five percentage Universal Essence to break through to the 1st Essence Core, she noted. And my Lunar Edge Sword Art has reached Mastery level. She sighed. That fight... she still didn't know who had tried to harm the young lady, even sending a 1st Essence Core assassin. Fortunately, the young lady had a talisman powerful enough to kill a 2nd Essence Core Magus, though it hadn't been needed—if things had truly turned dire, her sister would have intervened. Still, the battle had exposed my weaknesses, making it a good opportunity for growth.

"I'll finish bathing quickly and check on the young lady. She should be waking up soon," she thought.

She retrieved shampoo from her storage ring, poured some into her hand, and began washing.

Thirty minutes later, she stepped out of the bathroom, put on a fresh white dress, and donned her mask. She tied her hair into a ponytail and set out to find the red-haired woman—her young lady.
