Chapter 7 - Minerva Doubt

In the distance, the black dark sky stretched vast, with the half silver-white moon claiming its throne as the ruler of the night, surrounded by countless stars like loyal soldiers. On this winter night, even though it was the beginning of the season, the air was particularly cold. Here, the starting season dropped to a minimum of minus 30 degrees; in the mid-season, it plunged to minus 70, and the last season warmed slightly to minus 20. However, this level of cold wasn't dangerous for magic cultivators, but mortals will perish because of this; winter is the most dangerous season for them. Additionally, every penny has been spent on winter clothing to withstand the minus 70-degree cold. However, the clothing is not truly effective, and thus only a few mortals manage to escape its harshness.

Medure City was the main hub of the Medure family in this galaxy, and Alex was the one ruling over it. Minerva and Naviga were walking through the streets. When they landed, Minasa put the two of them on the ground, stored the airboat in her space ring, and vanished. There was no need for her presence now, allowing the girls some free time.

Medure City was a magnificent place. Even at midnight, it buzzed with activity as people came and went. The city was impeccably clean, with no waste or beggars in sight. Begging was forbidden inside the city, and no mortals lived there—everyone was here magic cultivator. Mortals resided outside the city near the walls, where numerous shops catered to them. In exchange for protection, mortals paid two magic stones, along with a two-magic-stone tax. Those caught begging or disposing of waste inside the city were punished with a fine of 10 magic stones and 20 lashes.

Every building in the city was of uniform height, except for those in the inner Medure headquarters area, which housed larger business buildings. The grandest building in the city, of course, was the Medure headquarters itself.

The city had two main paths: a black stone road 20 feet wide and a footpath. The central part of the road, spanning 10 feet, featured a red line dividing traffic—on the left side, carts, horses, and merchants transported products inward, while the right side was for merchants heading outward with their vehicles.

The footpath, made of beautifully carved white stone, was located on either side of the black stone road. The smooth white stone emitted a cold sensation. Along the footpath, white magic bulbs stood on elegant bulb sticks, casting a serene glow. Around each bulb, vibrant flowers of various colors were arranged, adding to the path's charm and snowfall in the first season added to Medure City's beauty. Also, this city was surrounded by mountains, adding to its majestic and picturesque scenery.Additionally, the Medure family resided in this city. At the outskirts stood the tallest mountain among all in the vicinity, and nestled within its heights was the grand residence of the Medure family.

The Vehicles were prohibited on the footpath, and flying was forbidden within the city except for Medure family members and special guests visiting Medure headquarters.

As they walked, Minerva asked Naviga, "Navi, you know your talent is the same as mine. So, are you angry for being under me ? I've had this doubt for a long time, but I never had the courage to ask. Now, I want to know."

Naviga looked at Minerva and replied, "No, Miss, I'm not angry with you and the bloodline curse is not your fault."

Hearing this, Minerva felt relieved. She didn't want her maid to harbor resentment towards her. Even so, she continued, "You know, normally, someone with Supreme Heaven Talent being under someone else would hurt their pride. That's why I asked that, I also don't want you to hate me."

Naviga felt a warmth in her heart when she heard this. In her previous life, she had no friends—only a brief moment of companionship in childhood, which ended in tragedy due to the cruelty of a lab experiment.

When she reincarnated into this world, she initially didn't trust anyone, not even her family. Her past life had shaped her into someone cold and calculating, even against her own teammates. However, this new world had softened her. She now had a sister protecting her in secret, a powerful backer, and a Miss who genuinely cared for her.

This world was indeed more dangerous than the modern one, but here, she had found something she lacked in her previous life: happiness, family, and purpose.

"Miss, you know, if you look at it from an individual's perspective, this curse is truly hateful for someone with Heaven-level talent. But if you consider it from the founder's time, the decision to create the curse was the best choice," Naviga explained calmly.

"You know, the Akerman family has an 18,000-year history. Its founder was a maid to the Medure founder( The founder is the woman who ascended to the 7th Galaxy; she is the one who established the Medure family in the 7th Galaxy.). At that time, the Akerman founder wasn't a talented person, nor were her husband and their resources particularly abundant. Even though Medure backed them, Medure was only a low-level family in the 7th Galaxy at that time. Resources were limited, and they had to rely on fate to survive.

The founder does not utilize weapons or skills that she could use for her family's resources.Additionally, she will receive the finest arts and weapons from owner.

She probably foresaw that, in the future, more talented people would emerge in the Akerman family. Still, she wanted to ensure there would be no betrayal of her Miss or the Medure family. She placed unwavering trust in her Miss, so she likely cast the bloodline curse to protect both families.

Furthermore, she specifically requested the Medure founder to create a soul curse rune to ensure her descendants were bound to serve faithfully. That's likely the reasoning behind the creation of the bloodline curse—although this is just my conclusion. There might be other specific causes that I'm unaware of."

Minerva listened intently, contemplating the intricate past that shaped the Akerman family and its connection to the Medure lineage.

In the Akerman family history, there were one or two instances where a maid was more talented than her owner, but because of the bloodline curse, they couldn't cultivate independently .

When their doubts were cleared, the two walked in silence. The crowd on the road and footpath constantly glanced their way. It was rare to see two women walking late at night, but everyone knew that anyone walking so freely at this hour was either from the Medure family or a powerful magic cultivator. Even so, all eyes were drawn to the two women.

One of them was stunning, with red hair and a face hidden behind a red veil. It was evident she was an absolute beauty. Her ruby-like eyes and her full red attire made her resemble a blazing flame.

The other had white hair and wore a white mask, revealing only her captivating silver eyes. She was also likely a stunning beauty, but what caught everyone's attention most was her scent. Her fragrance seemed to intoxicate those around her, and some men found themselves aroused. Fearing the consequences, they quickly fled, knowing full well that approaching this woman might lead to the destruction of their manhood. These two women were none other than Naviga and Minerva.

They paid no attention to the men gawking at them. This kind of attention was a daily occurrence for them. At first, Naviga had struggled with it, as her soul had once been male, but over time, she had adjusted.

The two women eventually arrived at a quiet inn. The inn was small, with grey walls, a wooden door, and a nameplate that read Carona Inn. They entered the inn, the inside of inn the tables were completely empty due to the late hour.

Most inns in Medure City typically had guests arriving even during the night for food and accommodation. But they don't mind it this quiet.

As they stepped inside, an old lady with full white hair approached them and asked what they needed. Naviga replied, "Two rooms." The old lady took two keys and handed them over, saying, "When you check out, pay four magic stones."

Even though this inn's fees were higher than the one in the small town where they had rested after the fight, it was still one of the cheapest accommodations in this big city, where everything was more expensive. Naviga nodded, and she and Minerva proceeded to rooms 11 and 12.

Naviga opened the door to room 12 for Minerva and said, "I'll be in the next room. Call me if you need anything, Miss." Minerva nodded in response, and Naviga walked to room 11.

They decided to rest for a while, either by sleeping or meditating, before heading to the Three Volcanic Mountains the next day.
