Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4

Ameera stared curiously out of the carriage window looking at the streets, houses, and the market place through the sheer material of the curtain that was drawn over.

She turned around to see her father and the minister who had accompied her. Her mother decided to stay back at the castle, to prepare of the celebration in the evening.

Though, this was not what she had been expecting when she said that she wanted to look around the town. Though, she leaves the castle number to times, with her parents, to may be go to some gatherings or to another kingdom a few times.

She had never even seen her own kingdom at all. Because mostly the carriages would take the straight, and less crowdy route. There was no need for them to enter the route of the commoners.

In her mind, Ameera had been dreaming that may be, she would get to see around the town, sitting on her horse, riding it. Then stop by some shop and buy some stuff. She would also may be do some bargaining. Though she did not know how to do it, and had only heard it from the ladies in the castle.

But well, she was now in the carriage looking through the curtain. Sighing, she leaned forward picking up a snack and taking a bite, before staring out again. It was not that she was upset that her reality didn't meet her expectations. Because, Ameera was smart and sensible enough to understand that she was a princess, and she just couldn't be reckless in any way. There were a certain way of conduct in how the things are to be done by them.

She was honestly, happy and content, that her father atleast tried his best to get her wish fulfilled. Having something is always better than nothing. And she stared outside with a smile.

Just then the carriage stopped, and Ameera turned towards her father to look with curiousity.

Sensing her gaze, King Atlas turned towards his daughter and smiled warmly, "We just happened to cross Duke Francis' carriage. And it would be considered rude to not return his greeting, isn't it, princess? So please can you wait for a few minutes for me, darling?"

Ameera's eyes subconscious fell upon the window that was on her father's side, and she saw another carriage standing there. Then meeting her father's gaze again, she smiled at him and nodded her head, "Sure, father."

King Atlas smiled at his lovely daughter warmly before he alighted the carriage, and joined the chief minister who was already down conversing with the Duke.

Ameera felt the carriage move again, so as to not hinder the path for the commoners and create problems.

Ameera sat back at her couch looking at everything that was happening outside with fascination. The marketplace place was so crowded and lively, making them Ameera's eyes shine. If only she could join there, she thought.

Just then her eyes fell upon a white cat that stood on the side of the lane, looking here and there. And just by looking at the cat, Ameera's eyes sparkled.

"Wow! That's such a cute cat!! Does it have a owner?" Ameera thought pursing her lips.

'Hihi... If it has got no owner than I will take it back to the castle with me!'

Just then her eyes widened when she saw the pretty cat getting surrounded by two scary looking street dogs, seemingly trying to scare her. And Ameera instantly felt the need to protect her, when she saw the white cat, take a step back clearly scared.

No! I need to help her!
