Ameera blinked her eyes and asked, "Are we already friends?"
Gwen blinked her eyes too, before her lips pursed in slight embarrassment. For the girls around her, it was easy to be friends with them, or atleast call them as 'friends'. But Gwen knew that Ameera was from the high class, her dress and carriage was evident, and it may not be the same way for her.
Clearing her throat, Gwen waved her hands and said, "I just said it like that. If it totally upon you. All I want you to accept the muffin! It is really yummy! And after all, it is your birthday too, take it as a birthday gift from me!"
Ameera stared at the little girl ;3&843 her lips curved up and her eyes turned into crescent slit as she smiled and nodded her head. "Okay!" On being persisted Ameera did not shy any kore and she accepted the muffin happily.
"Thank you! And Happy birthday!" She cheerfully said. Gwen giggled nkddeig her head and said, "Happy Birthday to you too!"
And then the two girls took a bite of the muffin. The princess' eyes shone brightly the second she had the first bite and she exclaimed, "Wow! This-" Not being able to resist she took another bite and said with a mouth full, "This is so nice! Probably the best muffin I have had till date!"
Gwen swallowed the bite she had in her mouth and nodded, "See. I told you!" Gwen would normally not share these muffins with anyone, as she loved them so much. But she suddenly wanted to with this little girl.
"Where do you buy these from? It is so yummy! I will ask my father to buy myself a lot of these." Ameera said as she put the last big piece of it in her mouth.
Gwen smiled a little sadly and shook her head, "Sadly, no. These cookies were made by Mrs Smith. And she does not sell them." Hearing that, Ameera's lips curved downwards in disappointment and she said dejectedly, "Oh! That's so sad. I was hoping to have some of these yummy muffins."
Gwen nodded her head and said, "I can understand. Hehe... If these were on sale, then I would have saved all my money on buying these muffins. But Mrs Smith says that some of the best things should remain under- rated and scarce. Other wise, it loses it's value."
Gwen shrugged and then added hopefully, "But then, I also hope that someday, I can learn this particular recipe in the future! So that, I can make my self and my close ones these muffins anytime!"
Ameera's eyes lit up and she nodded her head. But then she remembered something and with a small frown asked, "By the way, we did not introduce our names ev-! Oh my God!"
Ameera's eyes widened, when she caught the guards, coachman, and cheif minister around from the corner of her eyes. They must be looking for her!
Ameera pressed her lips in anxiousness. And then she hurriedly said, "Little girl! I need to go this instant! We will meet again! Bye- bye!" She turned around and was about to rush back to her carriage, when she stopped and turned around before losening a hair clip from her hairs and extending it towards her.
"This is for you!" She said.
"...." Gwen looked at the hair pin, and then back at Ameera, then at the accessory again. And shook her head, "No. I can't take. This is yours."
But Ameera determinedly shook her head and said, "No. I would have chosen to give you something better, but this is the best I have right now.
Also, did you not say that we are friends now? So as a friend, this is a gift for you. You also gave me a yummy gift after all. Please don't refuse, alright?"
On being referred to as a friend. Gwen smiled and she did not refuse any longer. And slowly too the hair pin from Ameera's hand. "Thank you."
Ameera smiled widely, before she waved her hand at her, "Bye- Bye! Take care!" She said before rushing back to her carriage.
Even after sometime, that she was gone, Gwen stood in the same place staring at the stunning jewellery in her hand and slowly looked up to look at the way the carriage had riden off, "She said, we will meet again. But how?" She did not know who she was.
And thinking of it, Gwen turned back, slowly making her way back to Mrs Smith's bakery.
On the other side, Ameera stared at the window, with disbelief slowly marring her face and she realised, "I don't know my friend's name! How stupid!!"
After coming back to the carriage, Ameera got a little scolding and some good lecture for leaving to the carriage without telling anyone, even when she said that she had gone to rescue a cat.
So, all she could do was just take the scolding. She after all knew that she was in the wrong. Ameera was thinking of telling her about her new friend too! But ohh heavens! She didn't even know her name! So Ameera kept quiet.
Meanwhile, the Cheif minister, who had been sitting across the king and the princess. His eyes fell on her, before moving to her hairs, where the pin was attached earlier. And now looking at the absent accessory, his eyes narrowed a little. But he kept his thoughts to himself.
