Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 14- IN TRANCE

It wasn't that Ezekiel had never seen a woman more prettier than Ameera. But it was something in her that made his eyes refuse to wander anywhere else.

Everything she id was so charming in his eyes. Every move of her, the way she looked at someone, the way she giggled, the way she smiled, everything she did had a unique charm of its own.

How she livened up the atmosphere around her, and how she got along with everyone. It was like she made a home anywhere she went.

"Ameera…" he whispered, as a smile crept up his lips.

After dinner, they all planned to sing and play music to make a good atmosphere.

Ezekiel was in such a trance staring that the young girl that he didn't even realise when she came in front of him and was talking to him. "Mister, hello? Are you listening?"

Amir looked at his Chief who seemed to be in a trance that he wasn't even listening to the young lady who was talking to him. Feeling embarrassed for his boss, he secretly pinched his side, making Ezekiel hiss out of pain. But thankfully he came back to his senses.

He was about to turn around and give an earful to Amir for having so much guts to pinch him, but when he saw Ameera in front of him, his eyes ever so slightly widened and his heart started drumming in his chest, "Y- Yes…" He stammered and blurted out.

And hearing that, it was Amir who seemed to have a heart attack as he looked at his Chief who just stammered. He just stammered?! He stammered…!!!!

The Chief of his, who doesn't even soften his voice while talking to a ruler of a kingdom just stammered?! Was.. was he dreaming? Or was his ears ringing?!

Turns out nothing like that was happening and he really stammered.

"Mister, do you know how to play music?" Ameera asked, her bright eyes staring at him for answer. But then Ezekiel shook his head as no, and said, "I don't." His voice so soft and mellow as a harmonium note!

"Um… then perhaps you know how to sing?" She asked, but then saw Ezekiel shake his head slightly, and said, "Apologies for disappointing you, Young Lady. But I don't know how to sing either." His voice was aced with regret.

Ameera looked at him and then nodded in understanding before his eyes fell on Amir, "And what about you?"

Amir too shook his head at once and said, "Young lady, my apology. But I too don't know how to sing and play music."

Ameera blinked, and she simply nodded. But then she looked at them, her eyes slightly narrowing and assessing them and asked, "I heard you both were travelling through the woods and stopped here to join?"

Ezekiel nodded his head and replied, "Yes, we had been to the town."

Ameera nodded and not prying anymore she said, "Alright, fine. You two don't have to do anything. But you need to join in and keep the lively atmosphere up, do you understand!" And at her words, both of them nodded their heads.

Ameera smiled and turned around to leave. But before that, she turned to look back at them, her eyes remaining on Ezekiel for a few seconds more, before she she went to join them.

Meanwhile, Amir was felt gasping as he turned his attention towards Ezekiel who seemed to be smiling foolishly, before saying, "Chief!! What was that?!"

"What?" Ezekiel simply asked. His attention still on Ameera, who was now laughing at something the tribe's kids say. And from the side, Amir exclaimed again, "You! You stammered and you were lost?! Are you alright? Or are you sick?!
