"Why are you all suddenly pledging your loyalty to me?" Vonn asked, his voice tinged with confusion and a hint of suspicion. His gaze flickered between them, noting the way they exchanged surprised glances, as if they hadn't expected this moment themselves.
'They didn't plan this? But it sure feels like they did,' he thought, narrowing his eyes and folding his arms.
Elizabeth raised her head, her gaze steady as it met his. "For me, it's obvious. Only you can save us," she said earnestly, her voice trembling slightly but filled with conviction. "With how quick you think and how fair you are, I don't think it's a bad idea to have you as our leader."
