Chapter 57 - The Protagonist

Vonn and the rest of the team watched as the fight unfolded before them. Each battle felt like a ticking time bomb, creeping closer with every passing moment.

None of them knew what would happen next. The uncertainty weighed on them, heightening their fear—perhaps fear wasn't the right word, but they were certainly nervous. And, as much as they tried to focus, they couldn't help but feel unsettled, frustrated by how much they had to worry.

As the watch continued, Vonn hissed inwardly at the thought of their future enemies. His gut twisted at how difficult they would be to face.

He wasn't concerned about the fellow travelers. Their numbers had already dwindled since the contest began. Most of the local invitees had either prejudices against kids or saw them as weak. As a result, they were quickly rejected, left to watch from the sidelines.
