Five months ago, a girl found herself on her way to a small village in a remote place. She thought her life would be easy and simple from now on, but trouble always finds her. On her first day traveling the mountain hills, she saw a man with light brown skin, thick muscles, and a broad smile.
That man introduced himself as a common traveler searching for 'Kin flower.' An herbal flower for curing mana disability, it is not very commonly found and is impossible to grow.
Many villagers laughed at him since what would a mere human want to do with that flower, he didn't have any mana in him. But the girl knew something that no one had noticed, the very man they were laughing at was none other than a beast, a bear in fact.
Now in the present, that very girl was treating the beast who caught her as a fairy and made a deal to help one another. "I don't think they would let a beast be appointed as a knight", Rosette was tending Hendrick's cuts. "Do beasts such as yourself go crazy that they smash trees and rocks?".
Hendrick gave a little smirk when he said, "It's called hunger dear, imagine being a loin and living in a human village, the poor lad isn't allowed to touch a single soul".
"That's why they have you", she finishes.
"That's why they have me. Hendrick the butcher, a man who will someday find a cure and with his trusted companion, they will_".
"Woah, woah woah", she waved her hand as if she heard something that didn't make sense, "Who's your companion?", she asked with suspicion.
"You", he answered while pointing at her. Rosette was still shocked by what she heard. She knew there wasn't a point to argue when you are debating with an animal. Instead, she got up and pulled out Hendrick's arm making him get up and dragging him out the door.
"I will receive your payment with tomorrow's exchange product of meat", she said and immediately smashed the door shut. Hendrick didn't even get to glance back. With so much work, Rosette finally retired back home after noon.
When she reached for the front door, she was greeted with an unfamiliar sense of welcome. The lights were closed, all the windows were blinded and the sound was quiet, too quiet.
Did the general leave, Rosette thought with a feeling of relief. But something told her to be on guard, don't look back, keep going forward, be prepared. Shit, he was still here. That general still roamed in her house.
"General", Rosette stepped inside, she saw Mathias sitting comfortably on the bed, reading the newspaper. "How are you feeling?".
Mathias on her question, put aside the newspaper to look at her. Rosette saw his health change. She was worried he lost too much blood because of his blue pale skin, but later she realized that Dark jade fairies are born with pale blue skin. They have a different charisma compared to ethereal fairies such as herself. Rosette had a common appearance compared to her siblings, all the imperial children were born with light glowing skin, cheery blossom hair, and diamond-blue eyes. They were considered beautiful and brilliant since each child possessed amazing abilities. But now they were all dead, killed by the hands of the general who looked confused.
Rosette stood beside him to check his plate, looks like he had eaten everything, and the clothes that she borrowed (Stole) fit him perfectly. "I'm feeling better Miss Qain, how about you?", he asked her back. "I'm quite well, just tired", she said.
He tried to stand but was unable to, looking at his state, Rosette dropped her bag and headed toward him, she tried to stabilize his lurching body by giving him support, but he was unable to stand and was instead placed on the bed.
"It seems your muscles are not contracting well", she made an observation, "I suggest having meals that are rich in proteins". She walked towards the kitchen and checked the storage cabinet (A storage fridge). She was searching for something, ah ha, she found it, two stacks of sheep meat.
"General", she said, "Do you want some meat?", she asked eagerly. For someone so fragile, she was an extreme meat lover. "No, thank you, you have already done so mu_".
"Please general! I insist".
"Um, okay". Mathias said, stunned.
