Chapter 3 - A week later

After a week of relentless questing, I've finally earned enough money and an infamous title:

[ Monster Baby Hunter (Rare).[Effect: +10% Fear Effect to Monsters]

Though the title is a bit unsettling, it's definitely useful. However, over the past week, the number of players in Final Life has drastically decreased.

Apparently, the game manager has released the news about 'Absolute Maximization.' That avatar stats are affected by players' real-life health, so everyone is rushing to the gym to get in shape.

While this trend might not continue for long, the game manager will likely release another update to address it.

This time, the update will allow players to exchange in-game currency for real-life money.

Additionally, players can also make progress in the game by exercising in the new training center.

Unfortunately, even the training center quests are limited to completing trainer quests, such as sword-swinging and related activities, and it rewards level up, so not for me.

'Anyway, I've collected enough money,' I thought to myself as I looked at the gold coins in my inventory.

Then, I found a quiet corner, placed a sheet down, and wrote a simple sign: '10 Slime cores for 1 Copper Coin.'

Determined to make the most of this opportunity, I sat patiently, waiting for a customer. As the hours passed, I began to wonder if anyone would be interested in my exchange rate.

Just as I was about to give up, go hunt it on my own, a young player approached me. "I'll take ten copper coins," he said. I nodded as he give me 100 slime cores, and I paid him the amount, and perhaps seeing this everyone rushed to give me the slime cores.

and soon I had run out of money while collecting the slime cores.

As I was closing my stall, and began to leave , when someone...

"Hey!"

I looked back as I looked at the caller.

A group of five people surrounded me. "Tell me the reason why you're after those slime cores," the leader asked. His name tag read "Dragonslayer69," and I couldn't help but suppress a laugh at his name while replying, "I got the alchemist quest."

Dragonslayer69 frowned as he he shook his head and let me go.

"darn I thought it's a hidden quest, turns out, it was an lunatic" he mumbled angrily as he leaved with his gang.

It's normal, after all. The alchemist is an eccentric guy here; he hasn't given any quests so far, making players wonder what kind of quest he would give. Just two days earlier, he handed the quest to hunt slime cores for him, and The player struggled to complete it nonstop but it turned out it was pointless. He offered very meager rewards.

Not to mention, the slimes didn't give much experience, so the player basically wasted two days of his time. Afterward, many tried different approach, but in the end, all routes led to a dead end or meager rewards compared to efforts they put in.

Causing everyone who tried the quest to curse the Alchemist guy non-stop on the game forum and he was blacklisted by the players.

And probably, Dragonslayer69 saw me as an insane guy who ran after impossible quests. It's not new—players like me are willing to chase quests despite their uselessness, just to know what's the end is.

After all, the one who actually discovered the quest and become second strongest in the game was actually an such guy , he used to run after such insane quests and eventually it caused his death and he ended up trying this quest after his death reset, and got the op class I am after.

though, I am not going through the quest route as it is an long quest, and why should I, when I can easily obtain it in just a week of hard work.

So, I begin to move towards the location, it was the slime hunting area, its not much famous as slimes don't give much exp and they are more difficult to hunt than Horned rabbit, plus not even the cores they drop sell for good amount.

Most of the time, people don't even buy it, as only the Alchemist finds it useful.

I looked around the slime hunting ground, where slimes of all shapes and sizes were running around, showcasing many colors. Their rarity depends on their color—the white ones and black ones are the most rarest, while the colorful ones like, red, blue and such are the common type, as not many people know about these OP creatures. They wouldn't be found until a whole six years later when 'Idonotfear,' the same guy who completed this quest, showcased his slime, which is an OP monster for the tamer class.

I roamed around, as slimes are peaceful creatures that don't attack anyone until a player attacks them.

I'm currently searching for a dual-color slime in this grassland. The reason for their colors is determined later, as these slimes have minor affinities for different elements.

For example, red is for fire, blue is for water, green and black are for dark, and white is for light elements. I'm finding hybrids among them.

Finding a normal one is already hard, but I'm looking for dual ones, so bless me with luck.

Soon, a whole week passed as I continued to search every day, lifting rocks and scouring the area. I have already found a white and a black slime and have secured them, but I still want dual ones.

"Sigh, where can I find them?" I wondered. No matter how much time it takes, I will continue to search for them.

Another month passed when I finally found one, or rather created one.

"Hehehe, breeding the black and white slimes was definitely the good idea," I thought as I looked at the dual-colored slimes among the many baby slimes. I have obtained them after breeding the two slimes I have got.

[ Title Obtained: First Breeder (Rare) ]

[ Effect: Increased favorability with monsters +50% ]

Finally a good title I got and now time to get the op class.
