Chapter 4 - Getting the class

Releasing all the slimes except for the Dual-attribute one, I began to take it with me to a secluded corner. There was a nearby underwater cave, so I reached the pond and began to ready to dive in, as I need to swim towards the location.

It was one of the location described in book, as the idonotfear, roamed this place for his quest.

This place was meant to be discovered while searching for the River slimes a special slime of water type variant.

During this quest, the player discovered the underwater cave where river slimes usually spawn. To obtain my class, I needed a slime spawn area. Though I could found many up in the grasslands, it's better to do it in a secluded area.

Plop!

Popping the cork off the underwater breathing potion, I drank it and then jumped into the pond, beginning to swim my way toward the location.

The graphics are just as stunning in underwater as they are above—a testament to the quality of this game. There are even monsters, but since this is a beginner village, they don't harm me much, especially after drinking a Defense Potion and Strength Potion. Still, you never know what might happen, so I swam hard toward the far end of the pond, where the entrance to the cave was.

Eventually, I reached the spot and began to move carefully, as the cave entrance is hidden. After some time, I found the entrance because I knew where it was, concealed behind a lot of coral that obscures any movement from things other than water-type forms.

The moment I appeared, the corals shrank back, parting to reveal the way forward. As I began to move deeper in, I reached the cave and emerged from the water. I looked around the underwater cave—it was dimly lit by luminescent mosses, casting an eerie glow.

A lot of dark blue blobs of water—river slimes—were jumping around here and there. Scattered among them were the bones of monsters that had come here before.

Ignoring the scene, I headed toward the spawn area. It was a crack in the underwater cave where mana and river water seamlessly mixed, resulting in the natural birth of slimes.

I placed the small, fist-sized baby slime I had with me in it and then began to feed it the slime cores I had collected.

Juggle, juggle~~

The baby slime started to jiggle happily as it ate the cores.

As the baby slime continued to absorb the slime cores, its growth became rapid. With each core it consumed, its form expanded, and its surface began to shimmer with a subtle glow. The power within the cores was being fully absorbed, nourishing the slime and strengthening it.

Slowly but surely, the slime started to change. Its once simple, jelly-like form now rippled with energy, and the hues of its dual-colored attributes—black and white—became more vivid. The fusion of these elements within its body was refining its bloodline, unlocking potential far beyond that of a normal slime.

With every core it absorbed, its natural abilities strengthened. You could feel the mana around it reacting, as if the cave itself recognized the transformation happening before your eyes. Its movements became quicker, more precise, and the slime's surface occasionally sparked with elemental energy—faint bursts of light and darkness flickering as its latent powers awakened.

By the time it had consumed the last of the slime cores, the baby slime had grown far larger, and its presence radiated an aura of dominance. No longer just a simple creature, it was evolving into something rare and formidable—a slime with the potential to become an apex monster, capable of wielding both light and dark elemental power in perfect harmony.

Finally, I fed it the last slime core. Now, the gigantic slime began to shimmer in light. The mana surged wildly, swirling in the water as the river currents intensified and rushed toward it. I raised my brow, wondering if I had done something wrong, but soon, I realized what was happening.

The slime was absorbing the river's elemental water energy, merging it with its own.

"Phew, it's just gaining another element, nothing dangerous," I thought as I watched. The giant slime's size began to reduce as it condensed the absorbed power, refining itself. I sighed in relief, knowing this was exactly what I had prepared for today.

I activated the skill I had practiced beforehand—The Basic Taming Skill.

Light shone from me as it landed on the evolving slime, adding a golden glow of my own to the mix of black, white, and blue light swirling around it.

Soon, the light subsided, and before me stood a pure white slime with a black crown and blue sigils of water. It looked at me with its now two black, dot-like eyes, which turned into crescents as it rushed toward me and hugged my leg.
