Seeing this, I grinned widely while picking up the little slime.
[ Name the Ancient Black King of White Rivers to increase loyalty. ]
I nodded, looking at him fondly. "Your name is Puddle."
Kyuu~
It seems like Puddle likes his name as he jiggled happily.
[ You have named your pet, increasing loyalty by 10. ]
[ Loyalty is already at max. Puddle's stats increased by 10. ]
"Seems like there are still a lot of hidden things I have yet to discover," I nodded, glancing at the notification. Then, I looked at the slime spawner—it was now broken, which was expected. After all, if it wasn't, anyone could have this Ancient Slime as a pet. Even non-tamer classes have three pet spaces, while tamers, pet masters, or summoner classes have no limit to the number of creatures they can control.
That's why the game has this mechanism: after creating an Ancient Slime, the spawner breaks, and no more slimes can be spawned from it.
Although there are around ten known spawn locations, along with many hidden ones, compared to the billions of players, this is nowhere near enough for everyone to have a chance.
Anyway, I've now gained my first insurance against the apocalypse. As for the hidden quest, of course, I know it's all part of the trials for the Champions.
I've already completed the Test of Luck—anyone getting a special class at Level 1 can only be described as having miraculous or absurd luck, which is why I passed the test of the Lucky One.
The next two tests are like this:
Test of Valor – This involves going up against a monster you know you can't defeat, yet still fighting against it and emerging victorious. Trial of Wisdom – This can be completed alongside the Test of Valor, by defeating a powerful opponent with the help of your wit, strategy, and planning.
Among these three tests, the Test of Luck is by far the hardest. It's the one that causes many players to fail in becoming a Champion, even if they manage to complete the tests of Valor and Wisdom.
Next I looked at my status screen.

"I've improved so much," I grinned, looking at my stats. No one would believe they belong to a Level 1 player. Most would probably accuse me of being a cheater or hacker.
Plus, the benefits of taming an ancient creature are amazing. The rarity system in the game applies to creatures, items, skills—everything. There are two hidden rarities as well: Unique and Special.
These aren't necessarily stronger than Mythical or Legendary, but they can sometimes be even weaker than Rare. It's more about how specialized or exclusive they are.
For example, there's a funny class I've read about called Milkman. It's a Unique class, meaning only one person in the entire world or game can have it. And it's as weak as it sounds—this class lets you produce different kinds of milk, and the only effect of drinking them is minor stat boosts. In the novel I read, the guy who had it was completely ignored because, let's be real, who wants to drink milk produced by a grown man?
On the other hand, Special classes are absolutely overpowered. It's like having the privilege of being a Champion. Anything labeled as Special—whether it's a skill, class, or item—is usually incredibly powerful.
After reviewing all the new details about myself, I opened the status screen of my tamed beast to take a closer look.
