Chapter 6 - Special.... II

"It's exactly as I remembered," I said, looking over Puddle. I got what I wanted, and not only that—I gained an extra benefit by acquiring the Water attribute as well. In the case of Idonotfear, he used the White slime at the spawner of the Black slime to spawn a dual attribute one. That's probably how he managed to get the dual attribute slime.

"Well, my method did lead to an unexpected outcome," I chuckled to myself as one of my goals was accomplished, earning me a special class. It was time to get another special thing I am aiming for.

But for that, I need to reach the limit of the Village, which is Level 10. After achieving Level 10, I can go to the chief, who will guide me to the town where I can change classes. However, I'm not looking for that right now; I want the special item.

In the beginner village, there are three special things one can obtain: a special class, a special item, and a special skill. It could also be a special pet, but regardless of what it is, there can only be three. Each can vary depending on the circumstances of their acquisition.

Now that I've gained the special class, there's only one spot left for that, so there won't be any more special classes available here.

That leaves me with the remaining special options: a pet, a skill, equipment, or anything else like an accessory, which would come under special items, or even a secondary class.

I looked at Puddle and said, "Time to level up." He responded with a cheerful jiggle, his two black dot-like eyes shining like crescent moons.

First, I copied Puddle's skill, which is Ancient Light Magic.

[ Ancient Light Magic is registered under Legacy Bond ]

[ Legacy Bond is now under cooldown ]

I placed Puddle on the ground and looked at him. "Go kill them all," I said, pointing at the River slimes in the nearby water cave.

Kyuu~

Puddle nodded and dashed ahead, his little light dots sparkling as he attacked the River slimes.

[ River Slime Level 3 died ]

[ Player gained 3 EXP ]

[ EXP is distributed between the player and tamed beast ]

I closed the notification window and focused on the battle, using Light Bullets to take down any River slime that tried to sneak attack Puddle. It was impossible for them to get past him—Puddle was three times as fast as he zoomed!

[ You have level up ]

[ you have gained 10 free stat points ]

And in just a minute Puddle end up killing all other River slimes, and we level up to level 2 with 13% progress to level 3.

"Now, time to leave this area," I said, finally emerging from the cave.

After some time, we were back on solid ground.

"Let's go and hunt stronger creatures that give much more EXP," I told Puddle, who was now sitting on my back. He nodded enthusiastically and began to move.

The monsters I had chosen to hunt were Goblins. I had enough stats to take them all on, especially now that I had my sword ready. The Tamer class allowed me to equip any weapons, it is one of the versatile class.

Soon, I reached the Black Forest, where Goblins and other high-level creatures resided.

[ Warning: This is a high-level area for players between levels 10 to 30 ]

I ignored the notification and kept moving forward. Before long, I came across three Goblin scouts. The Goblins were the same green-skinned creatures I remembered, sporting pointy features and wearing tattered, black Tarzan-like underwear.

Shriek!

They noticed me as I posed there, wielding my weapons, which included daggers and spears in their hands. The Goblins shouted, "Kill him!"

I grinned at the challenge and fired a Light Bullet directly at the nearest Goblin, hitting him square in the face.

But they could still recover quickly. I swiftly moved in, swinging my sword to decapitate one Goblin with a clean strike to the head, sending blood splattering everywhere.

[ You have defeated Level 11 Goblin Scout ]

[ You have gained 3,330 EXP ]

[ You leveled up! ]

[ You have… ]

[ You have reached Level 5! ]

Grinning, I noticed the other Goblins starting to run away in fear at the sight of my face. I thought to myself, Just one has already pushed me to Level 5. If I kill the other two, I might reach Level 8 or even 9.

I began to run after them, firing Light Bullets at their feet, causing them to stumble and drop onto the ground, terrified as I closed in on them.

[ You have reached Level 8! ]

The progress bar was now at 98%. I was so close to reaching Level 9 and then Level 10!

Kyuu~~

Puddle chirped in protest, wanting to join the fight. "Don't worry, you'll get your chance too," I patted him reassuringly.

I wasn't moving directly into the Black Forest; instead, I was keeping to the periphery. I wasn't foolish enough to venture inside, as this forest was meant for players over Level 10, and they typically traveled in groups. It was infested with Goblins, Grey Wolves, Orcs, and Trolls, all of which roamed together. I would wait until the coast was clear on the outskirts.

Just as I was moving cautiously, I suddenly heard the sound of heavy footsteps.

I quickly hid, thinking, That sounds like an Orc or a Troll. I peeked from my hiding spot and saw three Orcs coming from my left. "I should move," I thought, intent on shifting to the opposite direction, when I caught sight of three Trolls nearby.

"Ahh, it seems like I am really Lucky," I thought to myself. None of the creatures in the Black Forest tended to like each other, which meant it could lead to a fight. And I would reap the benefits.

I just have to wait.
