Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

"Do I know you?" Ann asked again. She hadn't seen this person before. And judging by the uniform he could be Sam's classmate.

"Umm." Sam nervously scratched the back of his head. "Ann it's me Sam."

"Am sorry, Sam is not at home now, but leave your number with me so I can contact you later when he gets back."

Number?! Where was this leading to?

His hair could be the problem. He held up his hair into a ponytail showing most of his facial features. "Ann it's me Sam, could you please let me in I promise I would explain everything."

Ann wasn't sure about what the person in front of her was saying.Frankly he did look a bit like her brother. And there was something about his eyes that drew him to her.

"How do I know you are Sam?" she said suspicious of him.

Oh come on? How could he get her to recognize him.He bet his voice sounds different. Well this should do.

"I ate the sandwich you left in the fridge last week because I wanted to get back to you at...."

"You did what? It was you who....."

Sam had expected her to be angry at him. But he never expected her to hug him before finishing her words.

"Where have you been?" She said her voice almost shaking.

Wait was she crying? guess she did care about him.

"Come in" She gestured after letting him go. He followed her inside.and just in time his father came from inside.

On seeing his father? Sam's heart skipped a bit, although he resented his father but he was afraid of him. Ann stood in front of him as if shielding him from their father.

To their surprise, he walked passed them and left for work without uttering a word.

Well that went kind of good. Sam sniffed his armpit, he needed to take a shower as his odour was now filling the entire room.

After taking his bath. Sam stood in front of a mirror checking for any markings on his body. Observing his body which looked smoother than usual, the only different thing was his facial features, his hair color and his eyes. Was that even his. His eyes had multiple colors placed in one retina. His body that was a bit lanky now had toned muscles and manly structures.

"Well this is going to get a crazier from now on" He sighed putting on his clothes.

Everyone was somewhat getting used to his new appearance. His mom didn't care less and wasn't bothered with where he was last night. Ann his elder sister bugged him from time to time asking how his body came to be.

Sam had an excuse for her? He don't remember. He told about what happened leaving the graveyard part and covered it up with ' I slept on an empty store'

Later that day a message came for him. His father had re-enrolled him in another school. An all boys school. And here he thought his father didn't care about him.

The day passed pretty quickly and it was soon night time. Everyone was asleep, except for Sam. Sam had thought about the possibility of being able to manipulate his soul energy without the need of a contracted beast.

He sat crossed legs at the sitting and began to meditate. He had countless books about mediation. How it helped summoners interact deeply with their soul energy.

He took a few deep breaths before falling into a meditative state. He sat there for two hours trying to feel his soul energy, but he couldn't.

Trying to manipulate his soul energy wasn't something that he could do easily. He had to be guided by someone. He needed a teacher. Books can't grant him everything.

He had read countless books about soul energy but why was it hard for him to manipulate his. Without giving up he went back into his meditative state shut all his senses from the real world.

He found himself floating with darkness surrounding him.

Sam was familiar with this place when he took his ceremony. He tried to move but like before his body was not listening to him. He opted to leave since he could at any time. But he decided against it, he had to be patient with himself.

A red wisp appeared out of nowhere flew to him. As if curious, it darted around him before engulfing him in red flames. The Sam began to feel a burning sensation in his lower abdomen. Like he had read he tried to direct the flow of energy to other parts of his body, but it disappeared quickly as it had formed.

Sam opened his eyes and smiled. Though it was not what he hoped for, he was satisfied. He had grasped his soul energy for the first time.

The thought of him able to manipulate soul energy without a contracted beast made him excited. His sister had told him earlier that his school had demanded compensation for the demptore or termination of his scholarship. Knowing his father, the other condition would be meant

Kondo high was a public school with Little or no mentainance. The government cared less about the school or it's well-being. It was in order words home to defective children than a school.

His father had already filled the form for his arrival, brought him materials needed for a fresh start at a new school.

Immediately he arrived at the school gate, Sam had a bad feeling about this. He could tell the school was not properly looked at due to rustiness of the plate of iron refered as a gate in front of the school.

He was early as 7:30 in school that morning, but the school looked deserted.

He entered the premise of his new school and he immediately became homesick. His new school wouldn't be able to hold a candle compared to his former school. There were no students on the field of mud as the field was practically covered with mud. There was litters of trash everywhere like someone had sprayed them.

The school buildings reminded him of cemetery rather than classrooms. Well this was going to be his new school he had to get used to it.
