Chapter 43 - Chapter 16: Pirate Treasure III

John approached the golden chest first, but he knew he couldn't just open it directly. He inserted his hands underneath the chest and felt around, discovering that it was indeed made of pure gold—very heavy!

With a strong effort, John flipped the golden chest over, causing its lid to pop open. Suddenly, a small robot sprang out, wielding a machine gun and began firing at the cave's ceiling.

After several seconds of shooting, the bullets ran out, and the little robot fell silent. John moved the chest back and tossed the bullet-spitting robot aside. Upon inspecting the chest, he found it empty, but even just the pure gold chest itself was worth a considerable amount.

Turning his attention to the silver and bronze chests nearby, he used the same method. The silver chest also contained a shooting robot, while the bronze chest had no traps at all—only a golden key inside.

John picked up the key and examined the cave closely, soon noticing a keyhole beneath the Guanyin statue.

Inserting the key into the keyhole, John was surprised to find it fit perfectly. A slight turn produced a series of mechanical sounds as the statue's mouth opened wide, spilling forth countless gems, gold bars, rings, necklaces, and more. Most of it tumbled into the golden chest until it was filled to capacity.

John felt elated; indeed, the pirate treasure was hidden here! However, he realized that the quantity wasn't as vast as he remembered from watching TV—it didn't match his clear recollection of an entire cave filled with treasures.

Carefully surveying the cave again for mechanisms leading to where real treasures might be hidden,

John searched around on the walls but found nothing that could open another treasure chamber. Could it be that he had truly misremembered?

Clenching his fists, John knocked on one wall. "Hollow! The wall is hollow!" He discovered that behind the statue, there was indeed a hollow section in the cave wall.

It became clear that the real pirate treasure lay just behind this wall.

Since he couldn't find a switch to open it, John decided to break through instead. He took a stance and concentrated energy into his right fist before delivering a powerful punch against the wall.

With a resounding "bang," cracks spread from where John struck outward until with one final explosion, the entire wall crumbled apart into debris.

Instantly illuminated by bright light, John's eyes were dazzled by a room filled with shimmering gold reflecting everywhere—so much treasure that it was almost blinding!

Once he adjusted to the brightness again, John was astonished to see that this cavern was half the size of a football field filled with various gems, gold bars, jewelry, coins of all kinds, and ornate crowns embedded with precious stones.

He felt certain that these pirates must have robbed treasures from around the world.

Besides all these riches, several golden chairs were occupied by skeletal remains of pirates long dead; due to time passing they had decayed into mere bones.

Although this sight was somewhat eerie, it didn't bother John; upon seeing all this treasure he felt grateful to these skeletons for contributing to his future happiness.

With treasure now found, it was time to transport it.

John retrieved his prepared large storage capsules and began carefully transferring pirate treasures into them. A standard-sized shipping container capsule filled up with five and a half containers' worth of loot; if there had been even slightly more treasure, he wouldn't have been able to take it all.

Naturally, he didn't forget about the earlier golden and silver chests either.

Just as John was preparing to leave with his submarine from this pirate treasure cave, he suddenly glanced back at Guanyin's statue.

"Since the initial treasure came pouring out of this statue's mouth, perhaps there are still treasures hidden within it," John thought to himself.

Adhering to his principle of not wasting any valuables, he leaped forward and delivered a powerful kick against this stone-carved statue of Guanyin.

With a loud crash, its upper half shattered upon impact; an avalanche of gold coins and gems rained down from above as expected—there were indeed more treasures concealed inside!

Finally collecting this last bit of treasure filled up John's remaining half-container completely; having slight obsessive-compulsive tendencies made him feel satisfied now that everything appeared in order.

After thoroughly checking this pirate treasure cave once more—ensuring no additional hidden treasures remained—John confirmed there were none left behind by pirates.

With all treasures collected now ready for departure but knowing he should also retrieve Dragon Balls while here,

He submerged into water and found one Dragon Ball inside a skull's mouth—the Three-Star Ball!

However, what surprised him even more was discovering additional pirate treasures still lingering in this pool!

John felt exasperated by how carelessly these pirates had left their riches lying around—it truly made things difficult for him!

Nonetheless with six large storage capsules already filled with loot—John decided not to continue searching for more. Even if he found additional treasures they would have nowhere else to go; better to leave now while ahead!

He piloted his submarine back toward where he entered Kame Port quickly making his way toward its exit point.

Upon reaching this entrance area again—John noticed that pirate robot had vanished; presumably off somewhere resting or recharging its batteries.

Quickly dashing toward where he'd initially entered Kame Port just as he was about to leave—the pirate robot reappeared!

Now without its sword or machine gun—the robot swung its fists at John in an attack!

Being wheeled-based allowed this robot quick movement; however without its weapons it posed little threat against John.

Effortlessly dodging all attacks from this robot—John sprinted back through earlier entrance passageway without incident.

It seemed like this robot had been programmed with set boundaries since it stopped pursuing him at that entrance point.

Its red eyes lingered on him for a moment before slowly heading back towards that dilapidated office building nearby.

Watching this robot depart made John reflect; who would've thought such a large pirate group would ultimately be guarded by just one robot? How ironic!
