John piloted his submarine back to Kame House, now in the afternoon. There was no one outside, and the inside was quiet.
Everyone was probably taking a nap, but John had only eaten a little in the morning and skipped lunch, so his stomach was already growling.
Familiar with Kame House after living there for over eight months, John headed to the kitchen, took out some food, and began preparing himself a lavish meal.
It wasn't particularly fancy, but it was definitely filling. Before long, he had prepared a table full of food. In the end, he devoured an entire week's worth of food meant for Master Roshi and the others in just one sitting.
When Master Roshi and the others woke up from their nap, they found John happily feasting at the dining table.
Seeing this scene shocked Master Roshi, who quickly rushed to the kitchen. Opening the refrigerator revealed that apart from some condiments, all the food had vanished.
Master Roshi approached the table with an unsatisfied expression and asked, "Didn't you go to Korin Tower? Why are you back here again, and why have you eaten all our food for a week?"
John pulled out a fist-sized diamond from his pocket and handed it to Master Roshi, saying, "Master Roshi, this should cover my meal expenses."
Upon seeing such a large diamond offered as payment for his meals, Master Roshi was overjoyed. "You say that as if you're my best disciple! How could I complain about you eating my food?"
John continued eating until he had finished everything on the table.
Afterward, John took out the Three-Star Dragon Ball he had found at the pirate base and handed it to Master Roshi. "Master Roshi, I found this Dragon Ball in the nearby ocean. If Goku wants it, give it to him."
"If not needed, then you can keep it safe," John added as he placed the Dragon Ball into Master Roshi's hands.
With his hunger satisfied and the Dragon Ball delivered, John decided it was time to head back to Korin Tower for further training.
However, before doing so, he felt he should hide the treasure capsules he had collected first.
So John changed his plane's course and returned to West City.
Instead of selling them to others, John planned to sell these pirate treasures directly to Bulma.
He landed his plane gently in Bulma's expansive yard just as she was preparing to head out. Seeing John land his capsule plane made her ask: "What have you been up to? Why are you back? Didn't you go out to train?"
As Bulma approached John's plane, she noticed all the jewels and treasures piled inside. Her eyes immediately sparkled with excitement as she exclaimed: "Did you rob a jewelry store or something? How did you get so much treasure?!"
"Not quite; I found a pirate treasure," John replied with a smile. "All of this is what I retrieved from their stash."
Bulma expressed her envy: "You really have incredible luck!"
"But why are you showing me your treasure? I won't say anything envious or jealous; these treasures are nothing special for me," Bulma said proudly.
John immediately suggested: "Bulma, I'd like to sell these pirate treasures to you. When your friends come over, you can show off that you found these treasures during your adventures."
"I bet that will make your friends envious!" John understood how girls often thought about such things.
Bulma pondered John's suggestion and felt tempted; after examining the treasures closely she finally said: "Alright! We're friends so I won't take advantage of you. I'll give you 100 million Zeni for these pirate treasures; how does that sound?"
"Deal!" John agreed immediately.
Bulma's offer was very fair—perhaps even slightly above the actual value of the treasures—but since they were friends, she felt it worthwhile to pay a bit more so they could both be happy.
After finalizing their deal, Bulma instructed her household robots to transport all these treasures back into her collection room while she took John to handle the transfer procedures. Soon enough, 100 million Zeni was deposited into John's account.
After getting a secondary card for himself, he handed over his main card to Bulma. She looked at him quizzically as if unsure of his intentions.
With a sheepish grin, John explained: "Bulma! You know I'm not good at anything besides training."
"You also know how big my appetite is; just one hearty meal can cost tens of thousands of Zeni! This 100 million Zeni will only last me two or three hundred meals."
"So could you help me manage my finances? I wouldn't want to starve one day due to lack of money."
Bulma recalled how John and Goku had devoured enormous amounts of food at their last restaurant visit after the martial arts tournament—she realized that with John's eating habits only someone with several hundred million Zeni in assets could afford them!
Accepting John's card from him she said: "Alright then! I'll help manage your finances but let me make this clear: if there's any loss don't blame me!"
Although confident she wouldn't incur losses—she felt it impossible not to profit—she still wanted to clarify this point.
John shrugged nonchalantly: "No problem! If I lose out then it's just money I got unexpectedly."
His relaxed attitude reassured Bulma as she nodded: "Don't worry; if there's any loss it'll be on me! Any profit will go to you! With this amount of money I doubt we'll have any losses."
After arranging where this 100 million Zeni would go—John returned home where he dug a large pit under a tree in his yard before carefully wrapping up six treasure storage capsules in oil paper and burying them there.
He planned on letting Android 18 handle those six treasure containers once they were together; he believed she would be very happy when that time came.
