Master Karin looked at John with a dark expression and said, "Who told you about the Ultra Divine Water? Was it your unreliable teacher, Master Roshi? Who said you need to take risks to obtain the Ultra Divine Water?"
John quickly shook his head and replied, "No one told me; I just felt that way. Otherwise, if defeating you could grant the Ultra Divine Water, wouldn't too many people come to seize it?"
Upon hearing this, Master Karin became furious.
"Am I that weak? What do you mean by defeating me to obtain the Ultra Divine Water!" After saying this, still angry, Master Karin struck John's forehead with his staff.
John realized he had misspoken and didn't dare to dodge the strike; he merely raised his hand to lightly block it.
Master Karin calmed down a bit and continued, "You can drink the Ultra Divine Water only if you gain my approval. If someone can snatch it from me by strength, I wouldn't care."
"Do you think those fourteen people in history who drank the Ultra Divine Water took it from me honestly?"
"However, while obtaining the Ultra Divine Water is easy, increasing one's strength through drinking it is difficult. That's why I said no one in history has ever increased their strength by drinking the Ultra Divine Water."

After saying this, Master Karin took out a teacup and poured some Ultra Divine Water from a teapot into it, then pushed it in front of John.
John looked at the red Ultra Divine Water in the cup; it seemed very poisonous. He couldn't help but swallow hard after hearing about those people's fates. He suddenly hesitated about drinking the Ultra Divine Water.
Master Karin seemed to notice John's hesitation and continued to persuade him, "Actually, your martial arts talent is very high; you're the most talented young person I've seen in hundreds of years. As long as you practice diligently, being number one in the world is almost guaranteed."
"I really think you don't need to take this risk. Inheriting the will of the previous Master Karin, I once tried to drink a sip of Ultra Divine Water but ultimately vomited it out due to fear. So I believe it's okay for you to be afraid of drinking it."
John thought for a moment; his arrival had already started changing the plot. If he couldn't transform into a Super Saiyan in the future and neither could Goku, wouldn't everyone be wiped out by Frieza?
Why did he initially want to collect Dragon Balls to transform into a Saiyan? It was so he could take control of his own fate. But now, if he didn't even have the courage to drink the Ultra Divine Water, how could he transform into a Super Saiyan?
If it were Goku or Vegeta, they would have gulped down that cup of Ultra Divine Water without hesitation.
Thinking of this, John disregarded what Master Karin was saying on the side and raised the cup filled with Ultra Divine Water before him, downing all of its contents in one go.
"Bitter! So bitter!" The moment the Ultra Divine Water entered his mouth, John felt like he had consumed the bitterest thing in existence and nearly vomited it all out.
However, he ultimately endured the bitterness and swallowed it all down.
Afterward, John felt every cell in his body screaming in agony as if thousands of swords were stabbing into him madly.
He thought he was going to die and let out a terrible scream.
Master Karin was still rambling on about giving up drinking the Ultra Divine Water when suddenly John gulped down all of it from his teacup.
Seeing John's suffering made Master Karin jump in shock; unfortunately, there was nothing he could do to help John now and could only silently watch as John screamed in anguish.
John was in so much pain that he wished he could pass out immediately; however, that wasn't possible—the intense pain was wildly stimulating his nerves. His screams gradually became hoarse and weaker.
Yet even so, John did not die; it seemed there was still a breath holding him up—the Ultra Divine Water just wouldn't kill him.
As the transformation from the Ultra Divine Water deepened within John's body, a golden image suddenly appeared in his mind: a golden-haired warrior engulfed in golden flames appeared within John's consciousness.
John immediately recognized that this golden-haired warrior was a Super Saiyan. The warrior seemed to be battling some monster; unfortunately, John couldn't see what kind of monster it was.
Eventually, after defeating that monster, the Super Saiyan looked at John with eyes full of anger but devoid of madness—rather incredibly clear-headed.
It seemed like he was saying something with his mouth, but John couldn't hear clearly. Therefore, John tried hard to calm his mind to understand what this ancient Super Saiyan warrior wanted to convey.
Gradually, John heard him say clearly: "The key to transforming into a Super Saiyan is rational anger. When your strength reaches its peak, control your inner anger and pain; eventually accumulate them together and then unleash them—that way you can transform into a Super Saiyan."
After finishing speaking, the golden warrior slowly faded away from John's mind.
Once the golden warrior disappeared, John woke up from his dream and found that all those painful sensations had washed away like a tide—he had made it through.
John got up from the ground and faced Master Karin's astonished gaze as he asked: "Master Karin, how long have I been unconscious?"
Master Karin replied: "More than five hours. But that's not important; tell me what you felt during those five hours?"
John said: "Other than pain is just pain; this kind of pain comes from every cell within my body."
John didn't want to mention anything about Super Saiyans because clearly this was only possible due to him being a Saiyan now; it wasn't universal.
Master Karin felt somewhat disappointed. As currently the only person who could drink the Ultra Divine Water without dying, he wanted to gather some data on what kind of person could drink it without dying. Unfortunately, all he could hear from John were two words: pain.
"Alright then; since there are no other feelings let's leave it at that. However, now that you've drunk the Ultra Divine Water what do you plan to do next?" Master Karin asked.
