John raised his head as if looking through the top of Korin Tower, seeing the Heavenly Temple at the very top. He said, "I think next, I should go to the Heavenly Temple and train with the God for a while."
Master Karin's heart sank, then he pointed his staff at John and sternly asked, "Who exactly are you? How do you know about the God and where he resides?"
John pressed down on Master Karin's staff and replied, "I'm just an ordinary Earthling. I have great respect for the God. I'm not trying to offend him by going to the Heavenly Temple; I know that currently, the strongest being on Earth is the God. I want to receive training from him and become the strongest person on Earth."
Master Karin shook his head and said, "Sorry, without the God's approval, I can't let you meet him."
John shook his head again and said, "That's really too bad, but I believe that one day the God will agree to meet me. I don't think that day is too far off."
John had anticipated Master Karin's reaction, so he didn't insist on going to meet the God at the Heavenly Temple.
In fact, John's intention for going up wasn't really to train with any God; his true purpose was to access the Hyperbolic Time Chamber within the temple. The high-pressure, low-oxygen, and high-gravity environment there is extremely suitable for training.
What John truly wanted was to experience the divine power emanating from the God. This was his main objective; although the divine power was weak, he hoped to use it to ultimately comprehend the essence of divinity.
Because both Zenkai Boost and Destruction Power can only reach their maximum potential when under divine influence.
"Since you won't allow me to meet the God, then I'll have to go back. But before I leave, Master Karin, aren't you going to give me a gift?! Or can I trade something with you?" John said with a grin.
"A gift? Do you want a Flying Nimbus? No problem, I can give you one; just don't know if you can ride it," Master Karin replied.
"No, no, no! I don't need a Flying Nimbus!" John quickly refused. He was well aware that he definitely couldn't ride one. Just because Goku could ride it now didn't mean he would still be able to when he grew up.
Seeing John refuse the Flying Nimbus puzzled Master Karin. "If you don't want a Flying Nimbus, then what do you want? I don't have any treasures here."
At this moment, John's eyes fell on a jar filled with Senzu Beans. He said, "What do you think about giving me some Senzu Beans?"
"Senzu Beans? No problem; I can give you a few," Master Karin thought John only wanted a few beans and agreed.
John immediately shook his head and said, "No, no! Not just a few; I think half a jar would be great."
"What? Half a jar of Senzu Beans? What are you thinking?! Do you know how hard it is for me to accumulate this jar of Senzu Beans? It takes me a whole year of hard work just to grow ten beans! And you ask for half a jar right off!" Master Karin exploded in anger upon hearing John's request.
The piercing sound made John cover his ears until Master Karin calmed down again. Then John said, "Can I trade something?"
"Trade?" Master Karin hesitated. As the guardian of the Heavenly Temple, once Master Karin became Korin's successor, he was destined never to leave Korin Tower. He had to fulfill his duty of guarding the Heavenly Temple until he died or fell in battle.
This meant that Master Karin couldn't explore Earth like normal people or taste various delicacies.
Master Karin had two major hobbies: curiosity and gluttony.
For curiosity, he could explore various places on Earth through jars; however, when it came to food, he had no way out—he really wanted to eat dried salted fish and Senzu Beans! But as an immortal being, how could he sneak human food through jars?
He also couldn't kill animals through jars and bring them back up to Korin Tower because that would be too bloody; Korin Tower is a sacred place that cannot be stained with blood.
So without options, his only source of meat was fishing in rivers and lakes around the world using jars but couldn't catch anything too large since big fish wouldn't fit through the jar opening.
Hearing that John wasn't asking for free but was willing to trade sparked Master Karin's appetite for food.
"What do you want to trade?" Master Karin finally asked.
Seeing Master Karin's eager expression made John feel amused. He immediately replied, "Just tell me what you want; as long as it's something on Earth, I can get it for you."
Master Karin quickly stated his desires: "I want high-quality sea fish meat, premium beef, and high-quality cat food. I've also heard humans say that cats love catnip; mainly these things—just see what else you can manage."
"OK! No problem! Don't worry; I'll make sure you're satisfied," John patted his chest and assured him. It is said that as long as there's desire expressed, no fortress is unbreakable.
After bidding farewell to Master Karin, John immediately descended from Korin Tower. After saying goodbye to Upa and Bora, he flew westward in an aircraft.
To prepare these items naturally required utilizing Capsule Corporation's influence.
When John arrived at Bulma's house, she was in her lab designing a gravity training chamber. Upon seeing John, she happily said, "John! You're just in time! Come see how my gravity training chamber design is going!"
Not understanding much about it himself, John glanced at the design of the gravity chamber's exterior; it looked similar to what he had seen in comics from his previous life. He replied, "I don't really understand this stuff; just do whatever works as long as it achieves my goals."
Bulma instantly felt she had misread her emotions and impatiently tried to kick John out of her lab.
John quickly said: "Bulma! I'm here today because I need your help with something—can you arrange for someone from procurement to accompany me while shopping for some things?"
"What do you want to buy?" Bulma asked curiously. In her impression of John as someone who never dressed up and always wore sportswear three-piece sets, it was surprising that he suddenly wanted to buy something.
So John explained Master Karin's needs to Bulma; each item weighed one ton and would be stored in refrigerated storage capsules.
In addition to what Master Karin wanted for food items, John also helped procure many living supplies like beds, refrigerators, generators, televisions—everything aimed at improving Master Karin's quality of life.
