Jae-Hyun Kim stared blankly at his computer screen, the fluorescent lights above flickering like a cruel reminder of his mundane existence. Five years had passed since he graduated from drama school, and his acting dreams had slowly faded into the background.
"Jae, another report needs your approval," his coworker, Ms. Lee, chimed in, breaking the monotony.
Jae-Hyun nodded, mechanically clicking through the documents. His mind wandered to the countless auditions he'd attended, the rejections, and the disappointments.
As he signed off on the report, a pang of regret struck him. This wasn't the life he'd envisioned. He was meant to shine on stage, not suffocate in a sea of cubicles.
The office phone rang, shrill and insistent. Jae-Hyun answered, his voice robotic.
"Jae-Hyun Kim speaking."
"Hey, hyung! It's Hae-Soo. I need to talk to you about something," his best friend's voice burst through the line.
Jae-Hyun's heart skipped a beat. Hae-Soo was an assistant producer at a prominent film production company. Could this be the chance he'd been waiting for?
"Hae-Soo, what's up?"
"Meet me at Café Blue tonight. I have some news that might change your life."
Jae-Hyun's pulse quickened. Could this be his ticket back to the spotlight?
"I'll be there," Jae-Hyun said, a spark of hope reigniting within him.
