Chapter 2 - 2

That evening I met Robin downstairs at the office. He wore a tailed suit with a handsome face and perfect body shape.

There is no denying that this man is handsome and elegant all the time. He was affectionate, and no woman could resist, including me.

When the first time I met him, I just wanted to lie in the same bed with him. But today, all I felt was disgusting.

I ignored him and walked straight to the station. Robin grabbed me: "Ethan invited us to a party at his house tonight. I'll come to get you."

His voice was flat, as if nothing had happened before.

I tried to free myself, but my wrist was hurting from his grip.

I stopped and looked at him. "Okay."

As I walked behind him, I saw the faint red marks on his neck, which is like a small strawberry.

There is no doubt that this is left by Olivia. I didn't say anything.

When I got in the car, I felt the strong smell of roses. Robin doesn't like the smell and has never allow me to put such perfume in the car before.

But Olivia likes it.

"You don't like strong smells, do you?" I asked him.

He was silent for a moment before he answered me, "I feel good right now."

I didn't pursue the topic further.

We arrived at the destination, where the others had been waiting for a while.

Olivia seemed surprised to see us arrive together.

"Good evening, Robin, Sophia. We've been waiting quite some time for you."

I smiled politly and turned to Ethan. "I'm sorry. I came in a rush and didn't bring a gift." Ethan is a childhood friend of Robin and Olivia. Robin always brought me to their gatherings, and over time, we became acquainted.

"I've given him a present on our behalf. No need to worry," Robin said, guiding me to the table.

The only two remaining seats were across from each other. I wasn't sure if this was intentional. I let go of his hand and walked directly to the seat opposite him.

Robin's expression shifted slightly, but he said nothing as he sat down in the empty chair next to Olivia.

I knew what his friends were thinking.

They think, for Robin, I am not qualified, so they never like me.

I've spent the last few years trying to please them. I carefully prepare gifts for every party and festival.

On a birthday party, when I saw the chocolate cake I brought in the trash can, only then did I realize that they had never used my gifts and never really accepted me.

Now I realize that I was like a fool.

I ate quietly, without saying anything.

Robin chatted easily with the others, picking at fish bones as he talked.

He usually doesn't eat seafood unless someone helps him pick out the bones because he thinks it's too much trouble to eat fish.

But now, he doesn't mind the trouble. He picked out a whole plate of fish and placed it in front of Olivia, then carefully wiped his hands with a wet napkin.

This is a treatment I've never had before.

Seeing this, I felt a pang of sadness.

I've decided to let him go, but it still hurts me to see him like this.

Ethan noticed his behavior, too. He glanced at my expression, nudged Robin and teased, "Don't play favorites. Grab some dishes for your girlfriend, too."

Robin, seemingly aware of his oversight, looked at the empty plate in front of me and said, "Let's order another one."

"No," I said, taking a sip of my drink. "I don't like fish."

"What about the shrimp?"

"I don't like that either."

Robin looked at the table, frowning slightly. "Beef?"

"I don't like that either."

He looked surprised and didn't seem to have anticipated my quick refusal.

In response to his gaze, I calmly wiped my mouth with my napkin and added, "I don't like anything you're saying."

'Sophia, aren't you happy? Olivia asked cautiously. "Why don't you eat the fish?" Please don't be angry with Robin. '
