Chapter 5 - 5

I shouted out my displeasure hysterically and then planned to just leave.

Ethan and Olivia, however, arrived at the sound of the noise.

They looked at each other and Olivia hurriedly said, "Sophia, since you're already here, why don't you stay for dinner?"

I looked at her coldly. "I'm not interested in having dinner with a third party who inserts herself into other people's relationships."

Their expressions quivered and Olivia's smile almost disappeared.

"Sophia, what do you mean by that?"

I ignored her and stared at Robin. "She calls you whenever she has a problem and you always rush to her side. You guys are so good together, so in love, and what are you doing messing with me? It's so disgusting!"

Robin's face hardened. "What are you talking about?" I told you, Olivia is like a sister to me."

Olivia blushed at his words.

I looked at all of them and suddenly felt like throwing up.

I had poured so much of my heart and soul into Robinander, but to them, I seemed to be nothing more than a joke.

"Whatever your relationship is with Olivia, I've made it clear. We've broken up, so don't bother me anymore."

After saying that, I left without looking at him again. At home, I erased all traces of him from my life. This time, I decided to get rid of him completely.

If it was only once, one could say that it was all a misunderstanding.

But him abandoning me for Olivia had happened many times, I'm not a fool.

After cutting Robin out of my life, I threw myself into my work full time.

As the editor of a magazine, my workload kept me busy and distracted, leaving me no time to think about the things that bothered me.

My boss, Thomas, noticed the dark circles under my eyes and laughed softly. "I've never seen you so dedicated. What keeps you so motivated?"

"There's nothing more important to me than work right now."

I stretched my stiff neck and looked up, surprised to find the office empty.

Startled, I glanced out the window.

Night was falling and the streetlights were twinkling brightly.

"Oh...it's so late." I muttered in surprise.

I used to be the first one out the door every day, never thought I'd be the last one out.

Thomas laughed softly, a pleasant look in his eyes.

"It's already 9pm. I can't believe you've been working so late that you forgot to check the time."

Hearing Thomas's teasing, I sighed resignedly.

He stood up straight and adjusted his tie. "Come on, you've been a hard worker. As your boss, I should make sure you get home safely. I'll give you a ride."

"Thanks... but that's not necessary. I can grab a taxi."

Even chatting with Thomas made me uneasy, let alone sharing a car ride.

"Hurry up, or I'll dock your pay."

Hearing this, I quickly packed up and followed him.

Thomas insisted on driving me home, and I couldn't refuse, so I agreed.

Outside my place, after exiting the car, I thanked Thomas with a smile.

As I turned, I caught Robin's gaze from a distance, staring directly at me.

He frowned, clearly unhappy.

Thomas noticed him and asked, "Do you need me to stay with you?"

I forced a smile. "No, thank you. Drive safely."

Thomas drove off, and I walked calmly towards my home.

Robin, unable to contain himself, approached me, his eyes filled with anger. "Who was that man?"

I looked at him coldly without a word.

He grabbed my arm angrily and repeated through clenched teeth, "Sophia, who was that man just now?"

"Why do you care?" I tried to shake off his hand but couldn't break free. "Don't forget we're not together anymore."
