As their screams grew louder and louder, Chan-Yeol's expression gradually turned into an annoyed expression of your boss when you give them a wrong document. Weird comparison but it's pretty accurate.
Chan-Yeol looked tired of them and tried to explain to them. After a few minutes of calming down and explanations, the F-ranks calmed down considerably with doubts still buried deep in their minds.
"Don't worry." hearing this familiar voice, they turned around to see Mu Wei who just entered with Lu Yi, "Their one of the best guilds, they have no reason to waste their energy on people like us."
Honestly, Mu Wei was hesitating to participate in the situation, but he figured it would be weird if he didn't stand up with his so-called fellow F-rank buddies.
The F-ranks were taken aback from the brutal honesty and some wanted to refute it. But it was the hard truth. Why should they ruin their reputation and waste energy on F-ranks? Even psychopath wouldn't do that.
'You can't refute huh?' Mu Wei silently thought while watching their faces go from surprised, offended, and then acceptance. If I were you, I would just suck it up dude. Don't make this any harder than it already is.'
He stood there as the F-ranks were processing their emotions every second. He saw the scowl that turned into an embarrassing and bitter look.
No matter what the F-ranks thought of Mu Wei's response they couldn't deny it. They themselves already know where they stand in the hierarchy. They were basically on the bottom of everything. It's like they were at the bottom of the food chain.
Chan-Yeol saw this and gave a small smile at Mu Wei before warning them, "It seems you all have calmed down about this. I will let this slide for now. However, don't rush things next time. I'm sure you value your lives somewhat, right?"
Right. They were basically the weakest amongst every rank. They can't afford to piss one of them off no matter.
The F-ranks nodded nervously and no longer questioned the man for fear that that they would never see the daylight again.
"Sorry to disturb but where'd the guy that went first go?" Lu Yi raised his hand in the crowd and asked with a cautious expression.
"Aye, yeah! where is he? I haven't seen that fella at all"
"Yeah, the last time I saw that guy was like before we passed out!"
The F-ranks turned to look at Chan-Yeol waiting for an answer to be heard. Although, they were walking on eggshells right now, their curiosity got the better of them.
Chan-Yeol heard this and answered unhurriedly, "He passed out from the pain. Not to worry, he's completely unharmed and currently being healed at the clinic. The pain varies from person to person depending on their pain tolerance."
Hearing this, the F-ranks no longer prodded any further and just gave nods. Despite being all F-ranks and somewhat having a sense of unity, they would never risk their life asking for some guy's location.
They were brought back to the waiting room and continued the agenda for today.
After 30 minutes of waiting for the announcement. A grumpy voice sounded throughout the room. "Why is it taking so fucking long?"
He seemed to be a teenager judging from their voice and appearance. He had long black hair tied up neatly and eyes that were as deep as the ocean. Seemed to be a foreigner judging from his accent.
"Hey, wait" He looked towards Mu Wei and headed towards him and asked, "You woke up way earlier than us, didn't you? Did you hear anything from them?"
The white-haired man reading a book slowly lifted his long eyelashes to look up and replied plainly, "No, I haven't heard anything."
Normally, many people wouldn't pay attention to this simple conversation but the man that spoke wasn't someone who looked "ordinary". Despite them secretly trying to take a peek at him, Mu Wei was already used to this countless times.
He really was beautiful. It was a dangerous and bewitching kind of beauty that made you fall deep into a trap. Perhaps it's because of his unique hair that makes him stand out. I mean, you don't usually see people with white hair across the street all the time, right?
Which is why although it gives a lot of unwanted attention, Mu Wei doesn't need to do any extravagant acts to get people's attention. In other words, Mu Wei basically had "pretty privilege".
The teenager was slightly disappointed with this and no longer asked questions. He went back to his group of friends and less people looked at him. They were too busy discussing with each other about their plans.
As Mu Wei sat there, he lowered the book he was reading and began to ponder.
'Guild master... He must be someone with great power. Would he be able to help with this situation? If all else fails, then I have no choice but to head to another guild.' In the corner all alone he muttered in a low voice no one but him could hear, "This is such a hassle... Why must it be me who gets assigned with this task?"
A few minutes had passed and Chan-Yeol returned to the waiting room. Originally, the girl was supposed to be next but for whatever reason he pointed at Mu Wei instead, "Mu Wei, you're up next follow me."
The girl was a bit shocked by this sudden change and wanted to tell Chan-Yeol that she was the one that's supposed to go. However, when she was reminded of that awful scene of Bai Jing she changed her mind. I'm sorry handsome oppa but I must treasure myself first!'
Min-Ji sat still on her sit and refused to move a muscle. 'What if he suddenly realizes I exist? Oh, please lady luck, give me your luck right now.'
She silently hoped Chan-Yeol didn't see her across the room and forgot she was even there.
Thankfully, Mu Wei slowly opened his beautiful red eyes, stood up from his seat and followed Chan-Yeol to the laboratory.
Lu Yi whispered silently in his seat and gave a small prayer for Mu Wei, "Come back safely Mu Wei..."
It seems the F-ranks and even Lu Yi did not notice Chan-Yeol had called him...' Mu Wei'
As the two of them were walking towards the laboratory, Mu Wei squinted his eyes and asked Chan-Yeol with a frown on his face, "How do you know my name? I don't recall ever mentioning it to you throughout our whole interaction."
Chan-Yeol showed a shocked expression and gave a cold smile. He even clapped his hands to applaud the young man beside him, "Wow, bravo! You're pretty observant, aren't you?"
Mu Wei saw this and thought to himself, 'That's such a fake expression. At least try making it believable dude.'
"Stop avoiding the question." He grew impatient with this small talk and continued asking, "You gathered information about me, did you?"
There's no way he gathered information about me in such a short time... Dude, that's a different level of stalking. Safe to say, Mu Wei wasn't too surprised about them investigating him but was surprised they did it quicker than he expected.
Well, even if he did have information about me, I shouldn't be too worried with them covering my back.
"Well." Chan-Yeol looked at him with a glint of amusement in his eyes and continued to provoke him, "I suppose you're right, Is there a problem?"
Mu Wei sneered at this and replied in the same provocative tone with a sneer, "No, not at all. Infact, why don't you keep doing that until you die? It would be such an honor for you to take interest in my lowly self"
Chan-Yeol laughed out loud at this reply and replied sarcastically, "Haha, then I'll keep doing that just for the sake of your honor."
Chan-Yeol no longer asked or said anything and continued to walk towards the laboratory.
On the other hand, Mu Wei was getting a bit annoyed with how this man acts. 'Is everyone in the guild this annoying? I hope the guild master isn't as worse as his employees otherwise it might really make me pull all my hair out.'
