Chapter 27 - Phantom

"I could create any magical circuit," I mused to myself, reclining in my chair, eyes half-closed. "As long as I can adjust the magic wavelengths to recreate it, that is."

The problem wasn't my skill—far from it. The issue lay in figuring out a way to make it profitable. No matter how hard I racked my brain, I couldn't come up with a scheme to generate real money from my abilities. It seemed I didn't possess the mind of an inventor after all.

Creating a resurrection talisman had crossed my mind, but that would inevitably bring unwanted attention. Too many complications to deal with. If I did pursue it, I'd have to pass it off to Karina and let her take credit. But then that would only increase the pressure on me to dissolve our engagement, which was already mounting.

The technology was far too valuable to let it sit idle, though. Maybe something more mundane, like a repair talisman, would suffice. People could use it to fix items without drawing much attention.
