As night falls, Gotham City becomes a haven for criminals, and violence fills every corner of the city.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Occasional gunshots rang out, claiming several innocent lives.
A large number of drug addicts wandered around, eyeing the shops with greedy glances, their intentions obvious.
In a dilapidated room in the slums...
"Ah!"
Chu Mo clutched his head as memories flooded in, overwhelming his mind.
Sweat the size of soybeans rolled down his cheeks. He was in immense pain.
Chu Mo struggled to digest the memories in his mind.
"Superman, Batman, Joker, The Flash, Arkham Asylum...!"
After a while the pain subsided and Chu Mo woke up.
"I travelled to the DC world?"
He lifted his head, his eyes clouded with confusion.
After a moment, he fully accepted the reality of his situation.
The owner of this body was also named Chu Mo, an orphan whose parents had died in a car accident five years ago. For the past few years, he had barely survived on his parents' savings.
Alone and helpless, drifting through life, this was a true reflection of his existence.
"The DC world! And I'm in the slums of Gotham City!"
"Out of the frying pan and into the fire!"
Chu Mo muttered to himself.
Moreover, this body had been frail since childhood, suffering from extreme anaemia and poor physical fitness.
Although he was now 20 years old, he weighed only 80 pounds and couldn't even lift a 30 pound weight.
Chu Mo was deeply worried.
He had read countless novels in his previous life, so time travel was not a foreign concept to him. His personality was generally easy-going, willing to adapt to whatever came his way.
"But why is there no 'Golden Finger'?"
Chu Mo complained in his heart.
Suddenly, a young girl's voice rang out.
[Ding, a time traveller has been detected. System activation in progress!]
"It's finally here!"
In a world like this, not having a Golden Finger was a death sentence.
"I wonder what kind of heavenly power I'm going to awaken."
Chu Mo felt a surge of excitement.
Lying on his bed, he looked around the shabby room.
There was a single table, a single chair and the small bed on which he lay. The house was practically bare.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a crumpled bill.
"Five dollars."
That was all his money.
Chu Mo chuckled bitterly to himself.
He stood up and walked over to the table.
There was a resume on it, with his photo glued to the top left corner.
Based on the memories he had absorbed, he was scheduled for an interview at the *Daily Planet* tomorrow - he had no other choice.
He had to get a job or he'd starve.
To make matters worse, he had borrowed money from the Mafia at high interest rates and had already spent it all.
Tomorrow was the day he had to pay it back.
What a miserable start!
Chu Mo cursed under his breath.
"Damn it!"
At that moment, the mechanical voice in his head sounded again.
[Ding, system activation complete!]
[The most powerful Touch Copy System is now at your service!]
"It's here!"
Chu Mo quickly concentrated and put his idle thoughts aside.
"What exactly is the Touch Copy System?"
"System, can you explain its functions?"
Relying on his experience from reading novels in his previous life, Chu Mo asked silently in his mind.
The system promptly replied.
[Ding, as long as the host touches a superhero or psychic/mutant for one minute, all of their abilities can be copied!]
"Damn, that's incredible!"
Chu Mo was stunned.
"System, does this apply to all superheroes, even dead ones?"
"Yes, feel free to use the ability!"
"So shaking hands, hugging, or... er... more intimate contact all count as touching?"
"Forget it!" The system's voice sounded a bit annoyed.
Chu Mo thought.
The Touch Copy System seemed quite overpowered, but which superhero would let him touch them for a whole minute?
Unless it was under special circumstances, it didn't seem possible.
Besides, he didn't know any superheroes yet.
It was like guarding a mountain of gold with no key to unlock it!
"System, is there a beginner's gift package?"
Chu Mo asked shamelessly.
"No!"
The system's answer was decisive.
"I've read enough novels to know that every time traveller gets a beginner's gift box! You didn't hold back mine, did you?"
He tried to blackmail the system.
The system seemed to give in, sounding a little irritated.
"Novice gift pack being distributed!"
Chu Mo was thrilled!
"Of course, shamelessness has its advantages!"
As soon as the beginner's gift package was distributed, Chu Mo felt a cool sensation slide down his wrist.
He quickly rolled up his sleeve.
A line of blue text appeared, glowing faintly on his wrist.
"Countdown to Sokovia: 47 hours, 59 minutes and 48 seconds!"
"Sokovia? Isn't that in the Marvel Universe? What does it mean?"
"Where's the beginner's gift pack?"
Chu Mo asked inwardly.
"This is the beginner's gift package!" There was a hint of pride in the system's voice.
"What the hell? I just arrived in DC, and now you want to send me to Marvel?"
Chu Mo panicked, questioning the system.
And it's Sokovia of all places - the ultimate battleground between the Avengers and Ultron, where countless people have died!
If he went there powerless, it would be suicide!
"When the countdown reaches zero, the host will be transported to the Marvel Universe. Complete the task within the allotted time and you can return and receive a reward!" The system's voice was brimming with confidence.
"Damn it, this is a trap! This isn't a gift pack, it's a death sentence!"
Chu Mo protested.
"Talk about being stuck between a rock and a hard place! There's no way out!"
"I want a refund! I want to file a complaint!"
The system fell silent.
"Curse your ancestors!"
"I protest!"
"I want to return to my original world!"
Chu Mo screamed in his heart, but the system didn't respond.
After a while, he accepted his fate.
"Damn it, the system tricked me right after I crossed over!"
Chu Mo grabbed the half-empty bottle of mineral water that had been sitting on the table for a week and drank it.
"Bang!"
He slammed the bottle down on the table, drenching his resume in water.
Chu Mo looked at it.
*Daily Planet*.
"What a familiar place!"
After a moment of thought, he slapped his forehead.
"Isn't that where Superman works as a reporter?!"
"The most powerful touch-copy system..."
"I know exactly how to use it!"
Chu Mo shouted excitedly.
"Damn, its hurt!" he winced and rubbed his forehead.
