"Yes, it just so happened that you found it. If it had been someone else, my wallet would never have returned to my hands. There are not many people who are as good and honest as you, especially in this city of Jakarta, let alone wallets that are scattered on the street in bags or pockets, people often try to steal them."
Cindy was not kidding.
From the bottom of her heart, she praised Roy's attitude.
The young man himself could only smile when he heard it.
However, when he returned from the restaurant, Roy felt uncomfortable.
The reason was, he could feel the curious gazes of the employees and the janitors who saw him.
Sure enough!
Roy became the talk of their town.
In fact, quite a few of them thought negatively of Roy.
And that could certainly cause problems or even social jealousy in the company.
One of them, Dion, an janitor who was quite close to Roy, approached him in the back room when Roy was washing dirty plates and glasses.
"Where did Mrs. Cindy take you, Roy?" Dion asked curiously.
"Accompany her to lunch outside," Roy replied while continuing his work washing the plates and glasses.
"Wow, that's fun. You've just started work and Mrs. Cindy has invited you to lunch outside? So far, I've never seen Mrs. Cindy invite employees, let alone office janitors, to lunch. At most, if there's an important event outside, she'll invite her personal assistant or the head of the department."
From her tone, it was clear that it was unpleasant for Roy.
Roy had guessed that sooner or later there would be questions from his friends about Cindy asking him out earlier during the office break. And that made him feel even more uncomfortable, it was obvious from his lack of concentration while washing the plates and glasses in the back room.
In his heart, he was currently filled with doubt and confusion, on one hand he wanted to tell what Dion had just asked him but on the other hand Roy was afraid that it would result in Dion or the other office janitors getting scolded by Cindy.
After Dion left, Roy, who was still in the back room after finishing his work washing the plates and glasses, seemed to be thinking to himself.
"What should I do now? If I just keep quiet and don't tell Aunt Cindy, there will definitely be more questions from my other friends. If I tell her, Auntie will be offended and scold them. Gosh... It's only my first day working here and it's already giving me a headache!" Roy complained to himself.
However, Roy tried to stay calm.
He didn't want to add to his problems if he did his first day of work half-heartedly because he thought too much about the negative views of his fellow OBs and also the employees at the company office towards him.
Until the end of work hours, Roy continued to do his work according to his senior's instructions.
However, when almost all the OBs had left the room, one of the employees suddenly called him, "Roy, come here for a moment!"
The handsome young man rushed over to him. "Can I help you with anything, sir?"
"Nothing, I just want to chat with you. Is that okay?"
"Oh, of course, sir."
"Please sit down!"
Roy sat on a chair in front of the table, facing one of the employees.
"Today is your first day working here as a janitor, right?"
"Yes, Mr. Yudi."
"If I may ask, what is your relationship with Mrs. Cindy?" The employee whose name turned out to be Yudi asked again.
This time, Roy did not answer immediately, feeling uneasy again about the question that was asked.
It wasn't just the question that made Roy uncomfortable, but also the cynical expression that Yudi showed clearly showed his dislike for him.
Was this still because of Cindy's invitation to have lunch together this afternoon?
Roy was silent for quite a while and confused about how to answer Yudi's question, until Yudi showed even more dislike for him.
"Mrs. Cindy and I have no relationship, sir. What's wrong, sir?" Finally Roy answered and then asked back.
"Hmm, nothing. I was just asking, okay, you can continue your work if there's still something to do."
Yudi stood up from his seat, then left the room.
Although Roy felt increasingly uncomfortable, he tried to keep smiling friendly.
On his first day of work at Cindy's company, Roy, who was previously very happy and enthusiastic, turned 180 degrees because of the lunch incident.
The discomfort made him restless.
In one of the office rooms that was used as his living room, a pack of rice that he had bought outside not far from the office building, was not even touched!
"It turns out there is no fun job, everything has risks and there are always problems. If I had known it would be like this, I would have been a scavenger and lived under a bridge as a bum, even though I live in a slum and earn food by collecting used goods, it would have been more comfortable." Roy muttered unconsciously.
He regretted his current job as an OB at Cindy's company office.
The night was getting late.
Because his stomach felt sore from delaying eating, Roy finally tried to fill his stomach even though he didn't eat half of the rice pack.
Due to sleeping too late, Roy woke up late, that was because one of his fellow OBs named Diko woke him up by knocking on the door of the room that was used as his room.
Roy hurriedly took a shower and put on his work clothes as an OB, then opened the door and met Diko who was still standing outside waiting.
