"I heard that on your first day working here, Mrs. Cindy invited you to have lunch outside and that was certainly very pleasant. So far, we who have worked here for dozens of years, no one has ever been invited to have lunch outside by Mrs. Cindy other than guests and her business partners, if I may ask, what is the relationship between you and Mrs. Cindy that on your first day working here Mrs. Cindy was invited to have lunch outside?" Riki asked again.
In addition to his curiosity, Riki also felt that he could not understand Roy, who was only a new OB in the office, being treated specially by his boss.
"I am Mrs. Cindy's nephew."
"Huh?! Really?" Riki was surprised and couldn't believe it, while Roy reconfirmed his answer by nodding his head while smiling friendly.
"Oh, it makes sense that you are treated specially because you are Mrs. Cindy's nephew," Riki continued, although in his heart he still couldn't believe and doubt Roy's answer.
"Is there anything else I need to help you with, sir? If not, I'll excuse myself to go to another room."
"Oh, please!"
Roy then stood up from his seat and left the marketing room.
In another room, Roy was also asked the same thing by one of the employees as well as when he gathered before the morning assembly in the special OB room and Roy answered the same thing as he answered Riki in the marketing room.
Although some believed Roy's answer that he was Cindy's nephew, most of those who asked him did not believe it at all and it was no longer a burden because he had answered as Cindy suggested.
The next morning, the marketing employees even seemed to gather around after they had breakfast.
"Do you believe it or not, that the new OB named Roy is Mrs. Cindy's nephew?"
"Who did you get the information from, Riki, that Roy is Mrs. Cindy's nephew?" Dani, who was also one of the marketing employees at Cindy's company, seemed curious.
"Two days ago I asked him in this room," answered Riki.
"Maybe it's true that he is Mrs. Cindy's nephew, otherwise how could Mrs. Cindy have invited him to have lunch together outside."
"I don't believe it, how could Mrs. Cindy's nephew only be employed as a cleaner in this office." Riki seemed very convinced.
"There could be another relationship but he deliberately covered it up." This time it was Dea who responded.
"Well, I agree with you Dea. I do suspect that Roy and Mrs. Cindy have another relationship, not a sibling relationship," said Riki.
"Yes, but why should we think about that, it's better to focus on the tasks and targets that Mr. Arbi has given us in the field later," said Dea.
"That's right Dea, whatever relationship Roy has with Mrs. Cindy will not affect whether or not the targets that Mr. Arbi has given us later."
"Yes, I was just surprised and curious that's why I asked him at that time."
Riki seemed jealous and couldn't understand Roy who was treated specially by Cindy, while he was only employed as an OB in the company office.
Not only in the marketing room, in other rooms or also among his fellow OBs, Roy became the subject of gossip. Most of them did not believe what Roy said that he was Mrs. Cindy's nephew.
What was even more naive was that Roy was not only gossiped about, but in his daily life, the employees who didn't like him always gave Roy inappropriate work and treatment, like that afternoon Riki who came back from the field asked him to buy a packed rice and after that Dion asked him to photocopy some of his work files outside which was quite far from the office.
Although it could be said that it could also be classified as part of the OB's duties, those who asked for help seemed to deliberately treat Roy like an errand boy and even made him suffer in the office.
How could he accidentally give Roy additional work, Riki who usually had lunch outside with his fellow marketing colleagues that day wanted to have lunch in the room by asking Roy to buy a rice parcel while Dion who could photocopy his work files with the printer in his office deliberately bothered Roy to photocopy his files outside.
Roy was completely unaware that he was now being treated badly by Riki and Dion, according to him it was one of the tasks he had to do as one of the OBs in the company office.
Until one day when Cindy wanted to meet Roy on the ground floor where she was assigned, Cindy was surprised because she didn't find Roy there even though the lunch break would only come in 10 minutes.
However, Cindy didn't find Roy downstairs.
She then walked forward to the outside of the office building where there were two security guards, one on guard at the entrance and the other in the vehicle parking lot.
"Mr. Sobri, have you seen Roy? Because there's nothing inside," Cindy asked the security guard standing in front of the entrance to the ground floor of the office building.
"Oh, Mas Roy was out and he said he was told to buy a pen and also to photocopy," answered Mr. Sobri.
"I was told to go out and buy a pen and photocopy?! Who told me to, Sir?"
Cindy looked surprised. In her company, there was already a stock of stationery and a photocopy place. Was this bullying?
