Morgan got out of his bed. His bed was as messy as usual. He walked towards the drawer. He wore a T-shirt and shorts. He changed.
He went inside the bathroom attached to his bedroom and brushed. After a nice shower, he went out to the room. He walked downstairs.
He reached the end of the stairs. He was in front of the entrance door of the house. The door was open. He looked out. When he found no one out, he turned inside his house and walked inside, closing the door.
He entered the drawing room, which was a few steps beside the stairs, away from the door. He sat on a couch.
The sound of cutting and cooking was coming from the kitchen. He said loudly, "Mom, what's for breakfast? I have a match today. Will you hurry up already?"
His mother replied, "Wait a minute, it's almost ready."
His father, a middle-aged man, with a seasoned face, came towards Morgan, tucking dust off the coat he was wearing.
He said, "Morgan, you are certainly making progress physically. But have you ever thought of your future? I think it's time you begin thinking already."
"Dad, I don't think I'm in such a rush to think of my future. Besides, I've got to study six or more years before my 'future' comes."
"Whatever. Still, will you manage to pull off your exams? At this rate, you'll waste yourself."
"Don't worry, Dad, I'll manage."
The mother came with a tiffin box and a water bottle.
She said, "Be sure to finish everything. Leave anything and you'll get it from me."
"Sure, mom. I'll finish it all. See ya, dad, mom."
Morgan ran out of the door as he waved to his dad and mom. Once he was on the footpath, he looked forward and walked with full enthusiasm.
After some minutes of walking, he reached in front of a park. Some teens of his age were playing football. He ran towards them.
One of the teens playing football reached him and said, "Morgan, are you ready?" That guy was 6 feet tall with a bulky body but smooth agility. His smoothness was extraordinary when compared with his body size.
Morgan was just a casual-looking teen with a height of 5' 6'' and a lean body perfect for swift movements. "Yeah, I am. But why were you playing with them? We have a match and we're getting late."
"I was bored of waiting for you, so I thought I'd better have a nice warm-up before the match. But hey, why are you on slippers?"
"Shit, I forgot to wear boots again. Just wait a minute. I'll get my shoes and come here."
"I'll get some more warm-up. Run your way home and back here. You'll get a nice refreshment and warm up, just perfect to conquer the finals."
"Why're you talking like our coach?"
"You know, the fire inside me is lit. I feel like I can do anything now."
"Just wait a few minutes. I'll be back."
Morgan ran his way back towards his house. After a minute, he was almost at his house. Bang! A loud sound of a bullet crashing came from behind.
At the park...
A girl was lying on the ground, dead and bleeding heavily. The teen Morgan talked to cried, "Jamie!" He was frozen solid, standing on 4 legs. After a moment, he started shaking, his face turning red.
A man wearing a black suit with a thick beard held a desert eagle in his hand. He put his gun back inside his pocket. He said, "Andrew, isn't it?"
"You just killed Morgan's sister. You won't leave from here alive."
He silently walked away. Andrew stood up. He ran towards the man and kicked him. The fierce kick, packed full of power, could have potentially killed the man.
But, just when the kick was about to land on his face, he grabbed the leg and pulled Andrew. He smacked Andrew on the face. Andrew blacked out. He was down to his face, bleeding from his nose.
His boots almost tore. Every other teen ran away. Jamie was shot right in the middle of her belly.
5 minutes later...
They lying on the ground. No one had arrived for help. Morgan reached the park. But when he entered the park, he saw the most gruesome sight of his life.
He ran towards them. Andrew said to him, "S-sorry. I couldn't. S-save her."
He reached his sister. He checked the pulse rate and breathing. She had a faint pulse rate. He took no time. He carried her and ran towards the road.
He reached the hospital. She was taken to ICU. He called his parents. They arrived at the hospital. His father reached the lobby for formalities. His mother met him and said, "You are getting late for the match. I'm here for your sister. She will survive and slap you if you wait here and ski your match."
Morgan almost let out a tear. He said, "Mom, I just can't leave her behind. What kind of big brother leaves his sister in such a situation?"
"Don't be stubborn." His mother began sobbing. "Just... go.." Before his mother went all out, he went out.
He thought, "Why am I leaving? Maybe because I don't want to see the crying face of my mother when Jamie's life is in sake. If I'm no help there, I just want to see her happy face when she recovers. At least for that reason, I must win."
30 minutes later...
He was walking straight towards the crowd, filling the atmosphere with cheers and a smooth, grassy field with clear weather. He was leading a group of 11 people.
10 players were in front of him. All of them were wearing blue Jersey. His opponent team beside his group were on red Jersey. The coaches of both teams were just beside each other, in front of the teams.
They reached the ground. Andrew was sent to the hospital by ambulance called by one of the passers-by. Upon looking at his sister's condition and the only way to make her happy and motivated, Morgan could see nothing.
He was not playing for fun and enjoyment any more. He was playing to win. And he could go to any lengths to win this match.
Morgan stepped on the grassy ground. He took a long breath. Before he could let his breath out,
BANG!!
He was shot. He crashed on the ground. The bullet had come from the middle of the crowd. His tale ended. But fate didn't care. Fate gave him the worst life possible.
Present...
He was working a 9 to 5 job at a normal office. His life was completely boring. He had lost his only purpose to live. He was as good as dead.
But, he wasn't aware at all that something that never concerned him would save his life from boredom and the worst-case scenario he was in.
