It was a sunny afternoon. The sun was shining brightly. People were walking down the streets of the city with umbrellas. The city was crowded.
Despite such busy working hours, Morgan was inside his house, watching a soccer match. The house was more of a 2 roomed apartment generally bought as an extension along with the main flat.
His flat consisted of some daily life appliances, a bed and mostly trash thrown all over the floor. There was no carpet and he watched the TV lying on the bed. That was one thing he thought was good in his life.
He changed the channels for some time, feeling bored from nothing interesting. He stopped changing channels after a news channel caught his eye.
It was a live news report from the Border area. A plane was flying west. The camera was on the ground, the cameraman was taking the live footage of the plane flying.
A young girl was standing in front of the camera with a microphone. She explained the situation well.
According to the explanation, the plane was transferring the biggest criminal in the world from a local cell to the central jail. The operation was conducted by Interpol.
As Interpol declared, the plane would fly west for a few hundred kilometres. After that, it would change its way to the south till the plane reached the central jail.
Inside the plane...
The convict was bound by chains, locked behind the bars of a confined and dark room. The door of the room opened. A man came in front of the bars and sat.
He stared at the convict for a while. The convict raised his left eyebrow. The man who had entered said with a satisfied smile, "I'm Tom Dillard. Nice to meet you."
The convict grinned. The Convict didn't say anything, just grinned. Tom banged on the bars and shouted, "Why the fuck are you not sad?! Why don't you show me your depressed look?!"
The convict grinned. A drop of sweat dropped from Tom's face. The darkness of the room covered their face but the convict's grim was visible because of his shining teeth.
The convict laughed hard. Tom went out of the room and banged the door shut. The sound of laughter of the convict was audible even outside the room.
Tom went away from the room and walked upstairs. He entered the pilot's cabin. He grabbed a cup of coffee filled just after he entered by a woman. The woman had a cup of coffee for herself.
Both of them sat on a chair beside each other. Tom said, "Kayla, when will we land?"
Kayla replied, "If this weather goes on, at least 10 hours is required. If the weather turns any bad, a delay of several hours is to be expected."
Kayla kept her cup of coffee on the table and opened a file. She began reading the files. Tom took a few sips of coffee. He stood up and finished his cup of coffee.
He was about to say something but looked at Kayla's concentration on the papers and decided not to disturb her. He went upstairs without a word.
He reached the uppermost floor of the plane. Above him was the roof of the plane. Kayla took a sip of coffee and kept it down. She was about to dive back into the documents but felt tired and stood up.
She looked outside the plane. The weather slowly got darker. As their plane flew west, the clouds became darker. Clouds began appearing below the plane.
She went to the pilot and said to them, "Aren't we flying near the ground? Why is cloud covering the plane?"
The pilot didn't respond. She went near the pilot. The pilot was out cold. She quickly checked the condition of the pilot. The pilot was dead. The plane was in autopilot mode.
She thought, "Shit! When did it happen? I was here the whole time." She didn't waste any more time and pressed the emergency button.
The convict's laugh got louder. Everyone rushed to the pilot's cabin. She said, "The pilot's dead. I don't know how that happened but we're in trouble."
Tom went to the pilot's seat and used the communication device to call the support planes that covered their plane from every direction.
The call was received but at that exact moment, the signals went out. The supporting planes crashed on the ground one by one.
Kayla rushed to the storage room and returned to the cabin with some parachutes. She shouted out so that everyone would hear, "Everyone, get off this plane! I'll take it to the central jail alone."
The people inside began to say, "But we can't betray you. We gotta work together."
Kayla replied with a warm smile, "I ain't your commander for nothing. I'm the best at the air. Just follow my order. I'm the boss here."
Everyone hesitated, but she convinced everyone one by one and sent everyone off. She went to the cell where the convict was placed.
She shouted at him, "What do you plan to do, what is your intention?!"
The convict grinned again. She shouted at him again, "Give a motherfucking reason for your grin!!"
She left the room in anger. She kicked the table at the cabin and sat on the pilot seat which was currently empty. She flew the plane downwards.
She was above a forest. Forest was no so perfect place to land, but it was still better than crashing the plane. She almost reached the forest. The heat began melting the plane, and she was having a hard time controlling the plane.
But the speed of the plane wasn't enough. Strong bolts of lightning crashed on the plane. The plane crashed. The forest and the parts of the plane began burning.
The cell of the convict crumpled down slowly. The clothes of the convict burned but the fire did not affect his body. The convict stood up and began walking away from the plane.
The only thing that the news channel was able to cover was that the plane was flying smoothly, but the sunny weather suddenly turned stormy, and bolts of lightning struck the plane.
Morgan closed the TV. He went out of his flat and took a lift. He got out of the apartment and gazed at the road. It was almost evening. The sun was still shining. But the initialization of evening was clear from the light of the sun.
He stopped a taxi and said, "Would you take me to Easter High School?"
