Chapter 4: "Spark of Attraction"
Leah couldn't help but notice the way Angelo's eyes crinkled at the corners when he smiled or the way his hair curled slightly at the nape of his neck. She felt a flutter in her chest whenever he was near, and she couldn't explain why.
Angelo, too, had noticed Leah's bright smile and her infectious laugh. He admired her kindness and her courage in standing up for what was right. As they spent more time together, he found himself drawn to her warmth and her beauty.
One day, while they were studying together in the library, Angelo accidentally brushed his hand against Leah's. The touch sent a spark of electricity through both of them, and they exchanged a glance that lingered a little longer than usual.
Leah felt her heart race, and Angelo's face grew slightly flushed. They quickly looked away, but the tension between them was palpable.
As they packed up their things to leave, Angelo turned to Leah and asked, "Hey, would you like to grab a coffee with me sometime? Just the two of us?"
Leah's heart skipped a beat. "I'd love to," she said, trying to sound casual despite the excitement building inside her.
Angelo smiled, and their eyes met again, this time with a hint of something more than friendship.
Chapter 5: "A Glimpse of Rivalry"
Leah and Angelo's friendship continued to blossom, but with a subtle undercurrent of tension. They would catch each other gazing, and quickly look away, unsure of what to make of the sparks flying between them.
Meanwhile, Max, the new student, had been observing their dynamic with interest. He was drawn to Leah's kindness and beauty, and he couldn't help but feel a twinge of rivalry towards Angelo.
One day, while they were all studying together, Max casually asked Leah about her favorite music. Angelo, who had been quietly observing their exchange, suddenly spoke up, "Hey, Leah, didn't you tell me you loved indie rock?"
Leah smiled, "Yeah, I do! How did you remember that, Angelo?"
Max raised an eyebrow, "Looks like someone's been paying close attention."
Angelo shrugged, "Just making conversation, Max."
The atmosphere shifted, and Leah sensed a subtle competition brewing between the two boys. She tried to brush it off, but the tension lingered, like a whispered promise of future conflicts.
As they packed up their things, Max turned to Leah and asked, "Hey, would you like to grab coffee with me sometime? I'd love to discuss music and get to know you better."
Leah hesitated, unsure of how to navigate this newfound attention. Angelo's eyes narrowed slightly, but he remained silent, leaving the decision to Leah.
