Chapter 14 : Trapped and Terrified { Ashes }

Leah's eyes widened as she stared at the ring on her finger, her mind still reeling from Angelo's sudden departure. She decided to distract herself by calling her friends on Facetime. As they chatted, Leah heard suspicious movements outside her room. "Hold on a sec, girls," she said, her voice laced with concern.

She walked out of the room but to her surprise the door was locked from the outside

Confused she wondered if Angel had locked the door no it wasn't possible with the way he rushed out he couldn't have had the time to lock it besides he had no reason to lock the door . Suddenly she heard a beeping sound outside the room, placing her ear on the door she listened to the sound closely, and to her greatest horror it was a bomb. ' no no no no ' her mind reeled with fear was it really a bomb it can't be right.

No it isn't possible, she thought to herself. Seriously who the hell was she kidding, she had watched enough FBI, detective, and terrorist movies to know the sound of a bomb. Fear and panic enveloped her. She rushed back to her phone to inform her friends.

Guys I think someone locked me in and there's a bomb on my door.

What Stella, Maya, Lanna and Charlie screamed at once.

Oh my God Leah. Charlie whispered as tears ran down her face.

Let me try calling Bro Angel, I'll call emergency.

Her friends brought suggestions fear and panic rose in the atmosphere and Leah felt suffocated she felt like she was going to die even before the bomb kills her.

Heart sank as Confusion and fear crept in. Where was Angelo, 'God please let this not happen to me please I can't die now ' she made silent prayers in her mind .

In the lobby area, a young lady who seemed to be in her early twenty walked into the hotel boldly, her red dinner gown, blonde hair and blue eyes were radiant and everything about her just simply screamed luxury. She walked straight to the elevator.

While she was inside she noticed four men in black suits staring at her like they had seen a ghost or something. And for some unknown reason she felt the bad vibes coming from them.

As she neared the VIP section , the men in black suits emerged from the shade, their eyes fixed on her with a sinister intent. Sophia's heart raced but before she could react, they grabbed her.

Sophia's body went limp as the men overpowered her, her screams fading into unconsciousness. They dropped her lifeless form in front of Leah's room, the door still locked, the bomb's beeping growing more insistent.

Angelo's heart raced as he sped towards the hotel, a sense of dread building in his chest. He felt it, something terrible was about to happen. His hands trembled on the wheel, his mind filled with visions of Leah, his wife, his everything.

Outside the hotel, the four men in the black Mercedes waited anxiously, their eyes fixed on the building. The leader's phone rang, and the old man's husky voice filled the line. "I expect good news, boys."

The leader's response was curt. "Yes, sir."

The old man's tone turned menacing. "Then why can't I hear the sound of victory?"

The person in the passenger seat pressed the red button, and a deafening explosion rocked the hotel.

The old man let out a victorius laughter as if he had won a lottery. And he ended the call afterwards.

Angelo's world stopped. He saw the blast, felt the heat, and his heart shattered into a million pieces.

"No! No! No! NOOOOOO!" he screamed, running towards the hotel, his legs pumping furiously.

Security guards tackled him, holding him back as he struggled to reach Leah. "Sir, please calm down!"

But Angelo's mind was consumed by madness. "My wife is in there! I have to get to her!"

Tears streamed down his face as he fought against the guards, his cries echoing through the streets. "Leah! Leah, no! No, no, no!"

The guards pinned him down, their faces somber. "Sir, there's nothing you can do. The hotel has collapsed. There's no one left to save."

Angelo's screams faded into sobs, his body wracked with grief. He lay there, his eyes fixed on the smoldering ruins, his heart forever shattered. Leah, his love, his everything, was gone.

As the reality of the situation set in, Angelo's body began to shake uncontrollably. He sobbed uncontrollably, his mind filled with memories of Leah. Their laughter, their tears, their dreams, all gone.

The guards tried to console him, but their words were empty. They couldn't bring Leah back. They couldn't undo the damage that had been done.

Angelo's screams turned to wails, his body wracked with pain. He begged for Leah to come back, to forgive him for not being there to protect her. But deep down, he knew it was all in vain.

As the darkness closed in around him, Angelo realized that his life was over. He had lost the one person who made his life worth living. Leah was gone, and . The explosion had ripped through the building, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. The sound of sirens filled the air, but they were too late. The damage was done.
