Chapter 18 - Mission Up Ahead

And the second reason why I called you to this meeting is to discuss my next mission.

"Anything for you, sir. We are going to execute it perfectly," Zimpa interjected. He suddenly stood up from his chair. "Sir, I can fight the entire world just for your goals to be achieved. We live because of you, and therefore we are going to pay you back by being loyal subjects, by following and executing all your commands ."

Meanwhile, Jane sat quietly on her chair while watching Zimpa talk.

"Haha, Zimpa, that's why you are one of my strongest men," Captain Chalse laughed. Then he continued, "This mission is not for you, Zimpa.

Oooh means, I will need to stay in the blank for now. Zimpa asked.

No zimpa I have another one for you. This mission is specifically for my test subject one zero one. He's the perfect fit for the job. Meanwhile, Jane and Shranka will assist him. It's also a test to know what he's capable of."

"Oooooh, okay, Captain. I understand. I will patiently await the mission you have for me in minds," Zimpa said while sitting back in his chair.

Captain Chalse shifted his gaze to Jane. "I'm leaving you in charge of this mission, Jane. Take care of it. Make sure you and Shranka execute this mission perfectly and retrieve the tech. I trust Shranka to come up with a better plan. You well know what the mission is all about, right?" Captain Charles asked.

"Yes, sir," Jane replied respectfully in a high tone.

"And secondly, keep an eye on the robot. This mission is specifically to test out what he can do. Make sure you keep a close eye on him and never let him go off your side."

"Yes, sir, understood," Jane replied.

No Jane, am referring this specific one to shranka, his good at observing. Just focus on the plan ahead Jane.

"Doctor Donald will explain the rest to both of you when you are about to go on the mission tomorrow. That's all for now. You can now go back to your rooms and duties if you have any."

Captain Chalse stood up from his chair after finishing the conversation. He then walked to an elevator, a single-person elevator. The elevator is specifically for Captain Chalse and leads to an unknown place. Whenever he wants to have a physical conversation with them, he uses the elevator to come to the specific dining room. The dining room is massive with artistic drawings all around it. At the sides of the walls, armies of robots stood around the edges. The elevator he usually uses somehow leads to the outside of the underground chamber.

The only way Jane shranka and zimpa can go out of the underground building was if they were given a mission.

When Captain Chalse went out of the dining room, Doctor Donald quickly stood up and began walking to the exit door.

"Anything you wish to learn about the robot and know how it works, come to the experimental facility. I will be there waiting," Doctor Donald said while walking, then the door opened and he walked out.

Jane sighed and stood up from her chair, looked at Shranka, and said, "I want to go get some rest. Later, we will meet Doctor Donald to learn how the machine works. I advise you to go take a rest also; tomorrow will be a tough day for both of us."

"But what is the mission all about?" Shranka asked.

"I will explain to you later when we meet at the experimental facility. Go take a rest in your room and don't ask any silly questions again."

"I wonder how this kid rose to this level and even earned the trust of Captain Chalse. He's just so clueless and always quiet," Jane murmured as she walked out of the exit room.

It was now just Zimpa and Shranka left in the room. Shranka placed both of his hands on the dining desk and laid his head on it.

"Hey kid, are you trying to sleep here?" Zimpa asked. "Go to your room and relax. Instead of relaxing here, you won't be comfortable without feeling the fresh breeze from the ventilator machine in your room. Hahaha."

"I'm okay here. I just want to have some time alone and think," Shranka said in a low-toned voice.

"Ooooh, okay, if you say so. Enjoy the happy stay alone with the armies of robots staring at you," Zimpa laughed while standing up from his chair. As he was about to walk away, he turned and looked at Shranka.

"Hey dude, do you mind if I take your food? It looks like you are done eating," Zimpa asked, smiling jokingly, his cheeks rising up and his teeth exposed. "Huh, what do you say about it?"

"Yeah, you can take it. Take it and go," Shranka responded, his eyes gradually closing.

"Oh, okay, thanks, Shranka. I can't wait to start digging into your chicken meat, dude," Zimpa laughed in joy as he picked up Shranka's plate with the chicken on it and walked out of the dining room.

"I just wish everything could go back to the way it was before," Shranka murmured to himself in a low and pitiful voice. "I miss you, bro. I promise to look for you, no matter what."

"Austin, it looks like we are going to be on a long walk tomorrow," Blinka said.

"What do you mean?" Austin asked.

"What I'm trying to say is that we are going to be outside of this shit hole tomorrow. You are having your first test, as well as your first mission. Chalse, that ridiculous being, I hate that man so much. He assigned a mission to you and a few others who will be leading the way," Blinka said.

"But how did you know?" Austin asked.

"Ooooh yeah, about that, I hacked into the speakers in the dining room where they were all sitting, having a meeting with a few others and that annoying doctor Donald. I listened to all their conversations but don't know what the mission is all about, though.

I told you earlier that I'm looking for something specific, that's why we have to dance to their tune for now. And along the way, it's another opportunity to blend well with you so that we can be a perfect mind together. With you and me together, we are invincible. Our strength is tremendous.

"I can't act on my own or do anything on my own. I was designed to be a system inside my host. I know you will be confused about this, but I assure you, with time, you will remember everything and understand what I'm saying," Shranka spoke inside Austin's mind.

"It's really a pain not to remember anything at all of my past. Could I have had a family, or friends, or maybe a lot more? I can't really tell because I don't remember. It's really a pain, and it's sad."

"It's the doctor, he's coming, Austin. Let's stay calm," Blinka said.

Doctor Donald approached the room where Austin was. He touched the door button, and it rolled open. He walked inside, looking at Austin.

"You have a mission tomorrow. We don't have any other time to train you, so you just have to show them what you've got. Take a rest, even though you are a robot.

You have to rest. You have the capacity and capabilities of a human. You can do what they do and can think as well. You are actually coming to life. Hmmmm, what an incredible tech you are, doctor Donald said while rubbing his chin.

So this is the power of the Neurocore. You completely regenerate him and have given him skin. Let's see what you can do when you face outside threats," Doctor Donald murmured thoughtfully as he gazed at Austin. Then he turned an walked out of the room, making the door roll back to its previous state.
