Chapter 22 - Are You a Spy?

As Zimpa was walking out, he spotted someone lurking in the shadows, hiding behind a large pipe used to transfer fluids and other chemicals to the experimental rooms, similar to Austin's room.

"Hmm, who's that?" Zimpa murmured. He used his super speed, bolting straight to where the person was hiding.

"Who the hell are you?" Zimpa's voice sharpened, slowly sounding into the person's ears.

"Ahhhhhhhhh! Please don't kill me, I'm just a common worker in the facility, please!" the person pleaded. It ended up being George.

"Hmm, you're a worker here, you say?" Zimpa asked while rubbing his chin. He had approached George so fast that George hadn't noticed him until Zimpa spoke, which made George very scared. Zimpa used his speed and invisibility ability to sneak up on George, intending to scare him. He well knew George was a worker, having seen him taking orders from Doctor Donald before.

"Hmm," Zimpa sighed, his eyebrows raised as his lips got very close to George's ear. "If you're a worker, what are you doing here at this time of night? You should be sleeping by now."

George was confused about what to say because, ideally, Zimpa was right. A normal worker shouldn't be in the chamber at that hour; they were supposed to be resting.

"Ahm, yeah, you're right," George replied, his voice shaking as fear surged through his heart. "B-but, how could he have noticed my presence? I made sure to hide myself and my presence to avoid sightings. I even hacked into the cameras to stop them from moving so I could sneak around and observe their progress on the neurocore system. But how did this guy notice me?" George murmured to himself in silent contemplation, feeling Zimpa's breath on his neck.

"Are you one of the spies?" Zimpa asked, his voice deep and scary. He then licked George's neck to intensify the fear.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" George shouted, trying to deflect suspicion. "No, I'm not! Please, as I said earlier, I'm just a common worker in the facility. Please don't kill me."

"Why the hell is he licking my neck? What is he actually? Is he one of Doctor Donald's lost experiments?" George thought, recalling the special armies used for the supercell chemical tests. He knew the chemical reaction made them inhumane, that's made his fear increase more higher.

"What should I do now? I don't have anywhere to run even if I want to. I should just pick the courage, but what will I tell him? What lie will I come up with now?" George kept thinking as the tension increased with every second. "I'm here to pick up something I left. I should go get it right away and move back to my room," George said while smiling and gently walking forward, away from Zimpa. "Sorry if I made you angry."

Zimpa stood still without saying a word, then suddenly burst into laughter. "HAAHAAAAHAAA! HAAA! You should have seen how your face looked. Haha, you look like a big fool. Haha, I can't stop laughing. Oooh my belly, haha. You are such a crybaby."

He walked to where George was, holding his shoulders and said, "Why the hell are you scared? Aren't you a worker as you said? You have the right to come into the chamber anytime as long as you have a good reason. As a man, you have to stand firm no matter what."

"Go pick what you want to carry and get going real quick before I change my mind," Zimpa said, while smiling.

"Why the hell is he behaving like a kid and having a change of character all of a sudden, from a bloodthirsty voice to a joker? Wow, my heart nearly flew out of my body. I really thought I was done for," George thought, gazing at Zimpa. He looked at Zimpa's hand on his shoulder and, with gratitude, said, "Thank you, thank you. I'm going to get what I'm here for right away and get to my room quickly." George said while quickly walking towards a book on the floor. He picked it up, turned towards Zimpa, and thanked him once more. "Thank you, sir," he said while bowing his head in appreciation.

As George was about to exit the chamber, Zimpa called out, "HEEEEEY!" His voice echoed loudly, instilling a renewed sense of fear in George, causing him to pause. George wondered why Zimpa called out again and if he had figured out that he was lying about his reason for being there. George turned his head gently toward Zimpa, forcing a smile while gripping the book tightly against his chest.

"I'm going to keep an eye on you. I have some suspicions about you. I just hope they aren't true," Zimpa said. George kept smiling as he continued walking toward the exit door to his room.

"Hmmmm, could it be, or is it just one of my bloodthirsty urges? I feel like ripping that dude's neck off. Hmm, I think that supercell chemical is having some side effects, which is perfect," Zimpa murmured to himself. His lips curled into an evil smile, his eyes deepened, and his eyebrows curved into a V shape on his forehead.

"HAAAAAAHAAAAAAA! AAAAAAAAH," he let out a loud, maniacal laugh.

"I think I just heard something," Jane said, turning to look around, but she couldn't find Zimpa, who had been beside her just a minute ago. "Where is that fool? It's better he's out of here. Oooh gosh, I'm sick of him," Jane sighed in relief.

Austin, I sense someone coming from outside. So behave yourself and make sure you do as they say. Okay? Blinka said inside Austin's mind.

Yes, Blinka, I understand. Austin replied while sitting on his bed.

The door gradually opened, and Doctor Donald walked in first, followed by Jane and then Shranka.

"So where are we going to start from now?" Jane asked, her voice tinged with stress.

Doctor Donald groaned in frustration as he suddenly turned to look at her. "When will you ever stop complaining? You are really a pain to my ears."
