Chapter 6 - Will You marry Me?

I will advise you to go for the one that has diamonds. Women like flashy stuff, so this will get her attention to accept your offer.

"Offer, you say?" Austin asked.

"Yeah, offer, sir," Thomas replied. "The moment I saw you, I immediately knew that you were here to get an engagement ring for your fiancee. That's why I'm showing you the best ring of all, one of our best collections, sir."

"Haha," Austin laughed, "you completely read me, how did you know?"

"Yeah, most people who come here always come for similar things. That's why I directly lead you to the showglass of the rings, sir."

"Okay, nice," Austin responded.

"So how much does the ring cost, again?"

"The ring costs 25 thousand dollars, sir; it's one of the most expensive diamond rings that best suits your choice and desire, sir," Thomas said.

Austin let out a sigh and then pulled out his credit card, weighing whether to opt for a cheaper one with a limited quality or to go for the one that is more expensive with a high quality.

After his heart settled, he handed his credit card to the salesman Thomas. The transaction was completed, and the payment was confirmed, sir. Thomas said. While giving back the card to Austin.

"Thank you, sir, for choosing us. Our service and offerings are highly rated in the market. I look forward in seeing you again, sir," Thomas said as he handed the ring to Austin in a box.

Filled with happiness, Austin collected the box, his eyes sparkled with joy as he looked at the ring inside the box. After that, he put the box inside his pocket and left the jewelry store with a broad grin on his face.

"Now that I have this, I can go meet Emma," Austin said. A smile of joy spread across his face as he hailed a taxi for a ride to the restaurant.

The taxi stopped, and Austin got in, feeling a mix of pride and happiness. "I have a diamond ring with me; she will be thrilled to see how dazzling it is," Austin mumbled during the ride.

The taxi driver turned to look at Austin and asked, "Is everything okay? Why are you talking to yourself?"

"It's nothing," Austin replied. "I'm just happy, it's just that I have someone important to meet."

Oooh! Okay… the taxi driver replied and then continued riding.

"It's 5:30 pm now. Can you please drive faster? I don't want to be late," Austin urged.

"Okay," the taxi driver agreed, then accelerated further. a few minutes later, they arrived at Glow Vinton restaurant. The ambiance was truly beautiful and romantic, promising a memorable experience for Austin.

Filled with happiness, Austin stepped out of the taxi and gazed roundly at the restaurant admiring its beautiful structure and settings. It was known as one of the finest and most elegant establishments in the city.

Inside the restaurant, Austin quickly found a cozy spot to sit. As he made his way to the seat, he scanned the area, hoping to spot Emma. Perhaps she had arrived before him.

Austin looked around, trying to catch a glimpse of Emma. "If Emma was here already, she would have called me. I don't think she's here this early. But it's already 6 pm; she'll be here soon," he thought to himself as he admired the restaurant's beauty. He then headed straight to the spot he had chosen, which happened to be in one of the most beautiful areas of the restaurant. He sat down and made himself comfortable.

Before long, a waiter approached him. "Welcome to Glow Vinton restaurant, sir. What can I get for you?" the waiter asked.

Smiling, Austin replied, "Bring me a bottle of water, and I'll keep myself occupied until my fiancée arrives."

"Of course, sir. I'll fetch it right away," the waiter said before walking off.

A minute later, the waiter returned with a neatly packaged bottle of water for Austin. "Here's your order, sir. If you need anything else, please let me know," the waiter said before leaving.

Austin opened the bottle of water, poured it into the glass cup, and felt the coolness of the water on his hands, as he held the glass cup. He then raised the glass to his lips to take a sip.

From a distance, he spotted Emma approaching. His heart quickened as he watched her graceful stride, resembling a princess, as she opened the door and walked in. Austin couldn't help but feel captivated by her stunning appearance, from her impeccably applied makeup to her elegant attire. It seemed as though she knew he had something special planned for her that day, and a sense of excitement and anticipation swept over him.

He stood up and walked over to her. "Emma, you look stunning," he said, taking her hand and leading her to their chosen seating area in the restaurant.

"You look very dashing in a suit, Austin," she complimented. "I'm sorry I'm late. I was stuck in traffic."

No problem Emma, Austin replied. The most important part now is that you are here with me. And I really appreciate that, Emma, Austin said.

"Okay, Austin, thanks for understanding," Emma said, while gently sitting on the seat offered by Austin. "What will you mind to eat, Emma?" Austin inquired.

"To be sincere, Austin, I'm not feeling hungry. I don't want to eat anything. But a drink can help. But before that, let's just begin our conversation. So, Austin," she said, "what do you have in mind to tell me on the phone that has to be in this sweat-looking place?" She asked.

"Hahaha," Austin laughed nervously as he gazed at her. "I don't know how to start this, Emma, but… but…"

"Austin, are you shy of telling what is on your mind? If I have done anything wrong to you, just let me know now."

"No, no, Emma," Austin responded nervously, his voice trembling.  "It's just that I want to be with you forever. You are the most important thing in my life now, Emma. I love you and I want to be with you throughout the rest of my life." Austin's eyes widened as he gazed at Emma, his heart racing with hope and fear, of what could be her response.

"If the stars were to be counted, Emma, you will be uncountable. There is a term that says love at first sight exists. It's clear to me because I felt my existence in you, Emma. I don't know how to express my deepest love to you, Emma, even though I do, words cannot express it entirely," Austin said.

A smile spread across Emma's face as she listened to Austin's enchanted words that grasped her mind and attention. Before she could say anything, which she was about to say, Austin brought out the ring from his pocket and knelt down immediately to his knees.

"Emma, will you marry me?" In a blink, The atmosphere became tense, tension spreading through Austin's heart, contemplating and fear spread across his mind, doubt of being accepted or rejected by Emma or not.

The people around the restaurant, who also came to spend good time together with their family and loved ones, fiancée, and friends, suddenly noticed Austin proposing to Emma, all eyes were on him. As soon as Austin noticed, he began feeling nervous, and his hands began shaking.

"Wow, I wish I never did this. I just hope this goes well, I just hope she answers yes," Austin murmured in thought as he suddenly closed his eyes while his hands held the ring towards Emma.

"Yes, Austin, I will marry you. This is what I have been waiting for a long time from you. I wondered why you took this long to finally make a move."

Hearing this, Austin's eyes opened, looking at Emma, with wonders spreading across his face, his dream just came true, he couldn't believe his eyes. He was frozen in thought and happiness.

"Do it real quick, Austin, what are you waiting for?" Emma said impatiently, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Put the ring on my fingers," she added, smiling eagerly.

Suddenly the people in the restaurant that was noticing what was happening began clapping.

"Hey dude, put the ring on her fingers before she changes her mind," a man said beside him, sitting with his wife.

Suddenly, Austin snapped out of his thoughts and quickly deepened the ring on her fingers. Then he hugged her.

Emma understood what happened, why Austin had been frozen. Since he was a kid, he would promise her marriage, using it as a joke which would always make her laugh. And now it turns into a reality.
