Chapter 7 - The Cries For Revenge

Emma's heart swelled with gratitude as she looked at Austin. "I'm glad and happy Austin, you've made my dream come true as well," she said, her voice filled with emotion.

"I've always loved you, Austin," Emma confessed. "These feelings have been growing inside me for so long, and you've made it come true, by making it a reality to me."

Really Emma, Austin responded surprisingly, his face flushed with happiness as he listened to what Emma was saying as she confessed her feelings.

As they sat back in their chairs, gazing at each other, happiness filled Austin's heart, overwhelming him with joy.

All of a sudden, Austin's gaze shifted to Emma's right shoulder. He noticed the same kid he had seen at the previous restaurant, staring at him from outside. His focus went out to the boy immediately he saw him.

Austin felt a strong urge to approach him. Perhaps this time he could help reunite the boy with his family or seek assistance from the police.

The boy was wearing the same tattered clothes as before, as if he had never changed them or taken a bath.

"I want to approach the boy, but if I get up from this chair, Emma will notice him," Austin thought to himself. "I don't want to ruin the lovely mood we're having. I'll just try to ignore the boy, but I'll keep an eye on him and see where he goes next. I need to find a way to help him."

Suddenly, Emma noticed Austin's suspicious gaze and tried to turn and see what had captured Austin attention.

"Austin, what are you staring at?" she asked while turning her head to look.

Austin laughed nervously. "Oh, it's nothing, Emma. I was just admiring that beautiful car that passed by," he said, trying to divert her attention.

As he was momentarily distracted by Emma, the boy vanished from his sight. Austin was bewildered. Why was the boy fixated on him? It was as if the boy had disappeared into thin air, just like before. Even though he could, where could he have vanished to, is he a vampire or what? that can disappear in a blink of an eye.

With her gaze focused on Austin, Emma noticed Austin's strange behavior. "You're acting strange, Austin," she said. "Are you expecting someone?"

"No, Emma, it's nothing. Let's just forget about it," Austin reassured her.

Then they continued their conversation. Austin tried to push the strange occurrences out of his mind on the  sudden appearance and disappearance of the boy but he couldn't. It remained a mystery, leaving him with a sense of unease.

Some minutes later, Austin was still in conversation with Emma when his eyes began to grow dizzy as he gazed at her. A presence of unease clouded his mind as it became worse, sucked in happiness and deep conversation, Emma didn't notice and kept talking to him.

Suddenly, Austin started hearing a sound coming from outside, like it was coming from a distance. The sound was like a plane flying towards the restaurant, and it grew closer and closer. Suddenly, something hit the restaurant, causing an explosion. it turned out to be a missile.

The building collapsed and the entire place was in flames, filled with fallen concrete and dust all around. Austin was flung by the wave of the explosion to the other side of the building while Emma was also flung by the wave to another side of the building.

Emma lay, helplessly on the ground, staring at Austin as her heart began to beat slowly. The wave of the explosion flung some concrete that ended up crushing her legs. But she was still breathing, but slowly.

Immediately as this happened, Austin passed out. When he woke up, he saw that his leg and left hand were completely crushed as well by a concrete that fell off from the building. He gnashed his teeth in pain as he tried to pull out his body from the concrete, but couldn't due to the weight.

The entire building was filled with dust and screams from outside. Suddenly the dust and smoke from the explosion on the building began to clear, only for Austin's sight to catch onto Emma, lying on the ground, struggling for her life.

Austin shouted in sorrow and pain as he saw her, he couldn't believe it, neither comprehend what happened, why did everything turned out to be this way, he said with bitterness.

Pain and anger stroked through his heart, as he tried to call out Emma's name.

Em…. Em…  Emma…. wake up.

By hearing his voice like it was echoing from a distance, Emma's hands suddenly moved, the hands that had the ring on her finger. She raised the finger slowly towards Austin, and then she gave up her ghost.

Her hands fell gradually as Austin looked

at her.

Austin shouted out loud, his mind filled with a piercing pain that seemed to emanate from the depths of his soul. Bittered emotions and anger contorted his face, twisting his features into a mask of torment and rage. His eyes blazed with a fiery intensity, mirroring the turmoil within him as he struggled to contain the storm of emotions raging inside.

What have I done to deserve this, what is this? A day that was supposed to be my happiest day, now turned out to be one of my saddest and most painful days, the day when I die. I wish I could have a second chance, and I promise to avenge your death, Emma, I swear, that I will avenge you.

Austin made these last words and then gave up his ghost as well.

Five days later, a man walked into the destroyed building, in a highly advanced technological suit, with a gun, glowing like a blue chemical fluid passing through it edges. He walked  towards Emma, who was already dead on the ground. He gazed at her. And said," What a beautiful woman, but am sorry you have to die this way.

With his highly advanced war suit, well-designed in a mechanical way like a robot, which can battle a thousand fully armed armies, and will come out Victorious. He used it and lifted the giant concrete that crushed Emma's legs.

As he lifted it up and flogged it at the other side, He looked at her for a few seconds and said, I don't think this is the test subject I think I should pass.

Then as he was about to go, he spotted the diamond ring on her finger and then he walked back to where it was and removed it from her fingers. He then stretched his left hand, and then a screen popped up from his wrists. With the ring in his hands, he pressed a button on his iron suit, around his chest and a pocket look alike device ejected. Then he put the ring inside.

Number ninety-nine, do you copy, a voice sounded from the man's suit, on his helmet. Have you identified the test subject?

No sir, the man in the suit replied.

What the hell are you waiting for? Get it real quick, I can't afford to lose the most important thing that I have craved to achieve for a long time. Your suit is well equipped, so don't fail me, I am giving you ten minutes to look for my test subject or I will terminate you, and make your suit go offline, and you know what the means right? the voice from the man's suit said.

Yes doctor, I know sir. I'm sorry sir, I promise to bring back your test subject sir, the man replied.

You better do. The voice on the suit responds and suddenly goes off.

The man with the iron robotics suit. Looked at the displayed screen on his wrist.

System activation, scan vision, activate  scan mode. The man said while touching the screen being displayed from his suit in his wrist into the air.

Suddenly a red light popped up from his feast, he began scanning the whole room and suddenly got to Austin's body. With the light scanner on Austin's body. A blink of green light started identifying on the screen that had been displayed on the man's wrists.

Hmm so this is the test subject, the man said. I can't believe it, this is the test subject Professor Donald has been searching for, hmmm impressive.

As he approached Austin, his muscles strained under the weight of the rubble as he exerted every ounce of strength to lift the massive concrete slab. With a grunt, he hoisted the debris that had entrapped Austin, revealing his motionless form. Carefully, he cradled Austin's body, placing it securely onto his broad shoulders. With a determined yet gentle stride, he walked out from the wrecked building carrying Austin on his shoulders.

The city was attacked by an unknown advanced technological robotics army with advanced weapons that can shoot from miles away, blasting an entire building. Everybody in the city has been wiped out. The city was left with burning buildings and lifeless bodies all around every angle.
