Chapter 23: Origin
Yun-ho, Nova, and Ethan gathered in a quiet corner of the academy library, their minds filled with anticipation. They were about to embark on a dangerous mission, and they needed to prepare themselves as best they could.
As they chatted, Yun-ho couldn't help but think about their origins. He had always assumed that they were all from the same world, but now he wasn't so sure.
"Where are you guys from?" Yun-ho asked, breaking the silence.
Nova shrugged. "I've been in Eternity Online for as long as I can remember."
Ethan nodded. "Same here. I don't recall anything about my life before the game."
Yun-ho hesitated. He knew that he was different from them. He was not originally from Eternity Online. But he was afraid to reveal the truth.
"I'm from a small town in the countryside," Yun-ho said, lying. "I always dreamed of becoming a great warrior."
Nova and Ethan nodded, accepting his story without question. They had their own secrets to hide, their own pasts that they were reluctant to share.
As they continued to talk, Yun-ho couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. He knew that he was different from the other players. But he couldn't quite put his finger on why.
Little did Yun-ho know, he was the only player who was truly aware of the nature of Eternity Online. While the others believed they were living in a real world, Yun-ho knew the truth. He was trapped in a simulation, a prisoner of a powerful force that controlled their lives.
But for now, Yun-ho would keep his secret to himself. He knew that revealing the truth could be dangerous, and he wasn't sure if his friends would believe him.
For now, he would focus on their mission to find the Heart of Darkness. He knew that the fate of the world depended on their success.
