Dr. Mario packed up his medical bag and turned to me. "Keep an eye on her," he instructed.
"Make sure she rests and doesn't exert herself too much." The doctor explained I couldn't help but still be worried about Mia.
I nodded curtly, my expression unreadable. "I will."
Dr. Mario nodded and turned to leave. "I'll check in on her tomorrow," he said over his shoulder.
As the door closed behind him, I turned my attention back to Mia. She was lying on the bed, her eyes closed, her chest rising and falling with each breath.
I sat down beside her, my eyes narrowing as I watched her. "Mia," I called, my voice low.
Like she had been waiting for me to call her name, her eyes flickered open, and she looked up at me, her gaze unfocused.
"What...what happened?" she whispered, trying to look around.
