Chapter 26 - 26: Next Time…

The school doctor towered over Ning Shu as he said, "Slightly interesting. You are quite interesting."

Ning Shu was stunned to hear such a cool line and stared at the school doctor in surprise. Could this guy be the male lead? She examined him closely, comparing his appearance to the description in the storyline.

The male lead was a ruthless and despotic figure, much like the female lead. They were drawn to each other due to their similar personalities, each finding the other worthy of being their match.

"Uncle, who are you? What's your name?" Ning Shu asked.

The school doctor noticed the confusion flicker across her face. "Why do you need to know my name? Haven't you been calling me 'Uncle' this entire time? You can just keep calling me that."

Ning Shu had called him 'Uncle' purely as a malicious joke; he didn't look old at all. She used the term only because her body was young.

Why did she want to know his name? She was curious to find out if he was indeed the formidable male lead!

As the school doctor left in his large black windbreaker, he exuded an air of coolness that made Ning Shu feel slightly unwell. Reflecting on the storyline, she realized it hadn't mentioned that the male lead was a school doctor.

The male lead was more suited to bloody fights and intense battles; a role like a school doctor didn't fit him. So, who was this man? There didn't seem to be any character like him in the story.

Ning Shu sighed, feeling that the world had changed drastically. What was with this irrelevant character? She had a hunch that the school doctor was far from ordinary. After all, how could someone who carried a gun be simple?

After cleaning up, Ning Shu headed to school. When she passed by the announcement board, she saw a post about her punishment.

Because she had been involved in a fight, a significant portion of her course credits was deducted. If she lost any more credits, she would likely be expelled. The post stated that she was the only one with deductions; the others faced no consequences—she was the only one punished.

This was a cruel world. As an orphan without any power or influence, she was vulnerable to bullying. Ning Shu hated this school, but due to her task, she had no choice but to remain. It was a place where the strong thrived, and someone like her was bound to be swallowed up.

People without family backgrounds shouldn't dream of staying in this school. It wasn't as if she had initiated trouble; yet, so many people banded together to bully her. It was utterly unbelievable.

Entering the classroom, Ning Shu noticed that all the girls who had fought her yesterday wore pleased expressions. It was known that course credits at Ace Academy were invaluable; someone expelled from Ace Academy would become a laughingstock.

Ning Shu was extremely irritated. She hadn't completed her task, and these people continued to harass her. She resolved that next time, she wouldn't fight on school grounds. Once she left the school, she would ambush them and beat them until they surrendered.

Sitting down, she picked up her three-legged table from the ground. She glanced at Ling Xue, who sat in front of her. Remembering the strange scene she had witnessed yesterday sent chills down her spine.

She didn't know what Ling Xue had done to that man, but it couldn't have been anything good.

Ling Xue turned around and looked at Ning Shu suspiciously. "Lin Jiajia, why do you keep looking at me?" she asked coldly.
