Eva stirred in his hands and opened her dazed eyes. Her gaze vacant, her mind still groggy from sleep. She blinked, meeting a chiselled chin and instinctively pinched it, only for her to meet Julian's gaze and sleep cleared up instantly from her mind.
Her eyes widened when she noticed she was in his hand, ''the sleeping beauty is finally awake.'' Julian said in a playful tone as he placed her gently on her feet.
Eva's face flushed and coughed, nodding in thanks. She secretly wiped at her chin, hoping she didn't drool or it would be more embarrassing.
She patted her chest inwardly when she touched her clean face. Her back straightened up, and then her gaze caught the mansion in front of them and let out a low whistle.
''Money,'' She muttered, with an envious gaze then it widened when she saw Julian and Ethan stride confidently towards the gate.
''Pssst…you are trespassing on someone's property!'' She whispered urgently, gesturing for them to leave and fearful of alerting the owner of their presence. ⊙﹏⊙
''ha ha… it's too funny. I can't... Hahaha.'' Julian busted out in laughter at her actions, it was too cute and comical with the expression on her face.
Ethan's shoulders trembled slightly, Eva looked at the both of them, baffled at what was so funny. The idea that they might own the mansion never crossed her mind.
Moving toward them, she grabbed their hands to pull them out - only to freeze at the driver's words.
''Masters, the gate is open; you may enter,'' Blaine called out as he unlocked the gate with a key.
Eva moved her head manically towards the both of them and met their smiling gaze and she sputtered out in disbelief. ''Y-you… b-both. Your house?'' she asked her eyes wide as saucers. 'whatttt!' this thought rang out in her mind as they both nodded to her incoherent questions.
She stared at them, scrutinizing them carefully, feeling it wasn't enough, she pinched Julian's skin, trying to pull his fake flesh away. ''ow! Eva, are you trying to peel out my skin?'' Julian winced and pulled out his hands from hers, she turned to Ethan who noticed her intentions and quickly increased his pace, passing through the door.
''How old are you? Are you cultivating immortality and you are a hundred in a young body?'' Eva asked rapidly. Her words nearly caused Ethan to trip on his feet.
''What messy thoughts are going through your brain?'' Julian asked, moving closer to her. ''Does my face look like a hundred-year-old man? I know I have time powers, but I haven't reached that impossible level to rewind my age. Let's go in.'' Julian said, his tone helpless as he dragged her into the house.
Eva was still in disbelief, if it was a normal setting she would have accepted but it's in a freaking apocalypse underground city, where natural things like Air are being paid for. Then add other taxes and vitamins they had to pay for.
So telling her they own this mansion was like telling her that the boogieman was pregnant.
Her eyes darted around, taking in the dark interior designs and furniture. Her hand went instinctively for Julian's wrist and pinched it softly still trying to uncover his supposed original skin. Julian could only hold her wrist firmly in place.
''To get a mansion of your own, you only need to become a dungeon conqueror. It's as simple as that and no not the freakish thoughts going through your mind.'' Julian said, his tone was serious.
Eva's eyes shone, 'that means dungeon conqueror= mansion and wealth.' She calculated in her mind, and a beautiful smile bloomed on her face.
''Don't deceive her. Eva, becoming a dungeon conqueror is not as easy as it seems.'' Ethan chimed from the side, his tone cold and serious almost bursting the bubbles in her mind.
''Blaine, prepare her quarters. She will be staying with us.'' Ethan instructed as he climbed up the stairs, heading to his study to deal with something important.
''Yes, master,'' Blaine responded to Ethan's back.
''If you need anything, ask Blaine,'' Julian said as he rubbed her hair and left before she had the chance to react. She frowned, smoothing her hair back into place.
''Miss, come with me, let me show you your quarters,'' Blaine said as he led the way. They climbed the stairs, moving towards the west wing.
They entered a suite with warm blue walls. ''This is your quarters. The north of here is Master Julian's and the south area is master Ethan. The study above is off-limits,'' He paused bringing out his watch, checking for the time.
''Dinner will be served in thirty minutes. Excuse me.'' Blaine's tone and mannerisms were that of a professional butler which he was. Eva nodded in response and watched him leave.
When she was the only one in the room, she collapsed on the bed, feeling mentally exhausted after everything that happened today.
Her nose sniffed the slight stench coming from her, she got up to undress and shower, then remembered all her clothes were in Ethan's space bag.
With a frustrated sigh, she left the room, mumbling, ''What did he say again, Julian's room north, Ethan's south... Now, where's south again?''
She spread her arms trying to figure out where was north and south were facing.
She looked left and then right. Before picking the right one, her brain cells were already suffering from thinking too much. Anyway, she would go left if she got the wrong one. With this thought, she moved through the hallway, then retracted her steps as she passed the window.
Her eyes widened when she saw the green crops, moving shyly against the wind, glowing seductively under the stars. She swallowed hard as she stared at the food lined up beautifully on the field.
She pressed her face against the glass, staring longingly at the crops, motivation sparking in her eyes.
Tearing herself away, she continued down the hallway - only to realize she was lost.
The corridor was unusually silent, with a chilling, almost oppressive air. Just as she was about to turn back, then she noticed a door slightly ajar, with light seeping through.
