For an instant Gordon thought about what it would be like to take the 2nd option. But then he rejected the idea. To him the 2nd option was the normal, tried and true path to becoming a hero. Being true both in the moment and through time only works for the movies. It only works for YY fiction.
Being honest with himself he knew he could never do it. Sinking down into the [Calm Mind] skill Gordon decided not to ignore his fears, this time. Knowing he was immovable, this time, and that whatever he faced he would be able to progress this main storyline quest or die. It wouldn't matter if he didn't succeed, the only thing that would matter would be whether he was staying true to himself.
