Everyone gasped in shock when she sauntered backward with her other cheek now red and swollen as well.
"This darn woman slapped her again! Just who does she think she is to go around slapping people!"
"Did she do any wrong pointing out that her children were bastards? If she didn't want people calling them bastards, she should've been more responsible!"
"This is the second time she's being violent in front of our kids. We should involve the management and get her kicked out right now!"
"Child service should also be informed of her children. They can't continue to live with her. Who knows how many scenes like this she has made them watch?"
About the last statement, Kelsie couldn't help agreeing given that she had just beaten up three thieves in front of them.
Even though she always told them to cover their eyes, she knew they peeked most of the time.
Hence, she always minimized her violence whenever she was forced to make use of her skill with then around.
While this was happening, the woman's husband rushed to hold her.
When he saw her swollen cheeks, he grew aggrieved.
But when he raised his eyes to see Kelsie standing in front of him looking unbothered with no single handprint on her face, his blood began boiling in rage.
This despicable woman!
She even dared to slap his wife right in front of him. He won't show her any mercy!
Seeing the anger in his eyes, a faint smile tugged the corner's of his wife's lips for a second before he forced out a sniffle and held him by the arm tightly.
"Our son made a mistake of trying to prank this woman's daughter, but her kids didn't get the prank. So they bullied and hurt him instead."
"I was just standing up for him and trying to make the children see they were wrong when their mother suddenly came out of nowhere and slapped me."
"Sigh. I was just trying to help. I really was just trying to help. If she didn't want my help, she could've just told me, there was no need to slap me so hard."
"When I tried to make her see reason with me all to no avail, I finally lost it a-a-and…"
She began stuttering at the end before burst into tears.
Kelsie was stunned and couldn't help taking a closer look at the liquid trickling down the woman's cheeks.
How impressive!
So there was someone even more shameless and almost on par with Laura Sutton when it came to twisting her words and actions!
Hearing his mother cry, the chubby boy threw himself at her and bawled his eyes out as well.
Seeing his wife and son bawling out their eyes, the man quickly assumed that was what happened and got up to confront Kelsie.
"Do you think my wife is a pushover simply because she doesn't tell people who her husband is?"
"What?" Kelsie genuinely didn't hear a word he just said as she was still amazed at the woman's acting.
However, the man thought she was feigning deafness on purpose and flipped out in anger.
He inched closer to her and pointed a finger at her, his entire body trembling in anger as he introduced himself through clenched teeth.
"I'm the secretary of the mayor of this city. Just one word from me and you won't be able to get anyone to employ you for any kind of job!"
"Your children will be kicked out of school and will never get admitted into another one in Silicon Valley."
"Now, I will let you off the hook if you go to my wife and let her return the slaps you gave her in two folds!"
His wife stopped crying for a moment and raised her eyes to look at him weakly.
"Honey, did you forget I have such weak hands? Slapping her just four times won't be enough to make up what she just did to me."
"Don't forget the humiliation she just caused me. If you let her off the hook so easily, people at work will look down on you after today."
"They'll look down on our entire family and think we're pushovers. Don't let something so scary happen to us."
Without thinking twice, the man agreed with her and immediately rephrased his words.
"She will return the slaps you gave her in ten folds. Afterward, you'll apologize to her on your knees for embarrassing her in publc!"
Kelsie stared at him indifferently and raised an amused brow, "Are you sure you're the mayor's secretary? Your joke just now is quite funny."
"I think you should resign as his secretary and take up a full-time role as a comedian. You'll do better at that."
The man clenched his hand into a tight fist and took another step closer to her. "What did you just say?"
Kelsie slipped her hands into her pocket and looked away from him.
"I won't ask your wife and son to apologize to my children because their apology means and will do nothing."
"But the next time something like this happens, I won't hold back. It'll be even worse if your wife calls them bastards again."
With her husband around, the woman grew bold and cackled in contempt when she heard Kelsie.
"Bastards? Hah! You're offended I called them bastards? Isn't that what they are?"
Kelsie's eyes instsntly clouded over.
Before her husband got here, getting such a reaction from Kelsie was bound to make a chill run down her spine.
But now, she grew bolder because she had him and turned her next words into a mocking song.
"Bastards! Bastards! Bastards! There, what can you do about that?"
The corners of Kelsie's lips curled up into a wicked smile as she suddenly waltzed past the woman's husband.
"You insolent woman, do you think I'll just stand aside as you hit my wife for the third time?" The man sneered in disdain and turned around to grab her by the shoulder when a veiny hand suddenly reached out and clamped down on his shoulder firmly.
"Bastards? Did you just call them bastards?"
