The place instant fell silent.
"She didn't want to leave, so I pushed her. It's not my fault that she refused to leave when I asked her too!" The little boy continued in a shaky voice, before suddenly bursting into tears.
The parents who had caused a ruckus because they thought Kelsie and her children were the ones at fault, felt their face fall at the sudden confession.
So they had judged her wrongly.
However, despite the boy's confession, his mother was having none of it and was actively kicking the officers in front of her as she tried to run past them.
When she realized, they weren't budging, she glared at the middle-aged officer standing in front of her son and hissed, "What do you think you're doing? You're forcing him to say those things. My son didn't do does things!"
"He's only admitting to it because you're scaring him. Just you wait, once this is over, I'll make sure you lose your goddamn job!"
She stopped struggling with the officers and took two steps backward. She inhaled and exhaled a few times before she calmly walked past them to get to her son.
Everyone's eyes followed her as she held his right hand and turned to lead him out of the park, but the third officer stepped in her way.
"From what I hear, you assaulted a child and…" He was saying when she shot him an icy glare and interrupted furiously.
"So what? His mother slapped me six times in retaliation and humiliated me in public, is that not enough to make up for it?!"
Indeed, it was. This was a matter that couldn't be handled by the police anymore.
Kelsie couldn't exactly press charges since she had already retaliated by slapping the woman six times.
Neither could Gordon's wife as she had started the whole thing in the first place.
But as someone whose husband was the mayor's secretary, Kelsie didn't need to think twice to know she was probably already planning her revenge.
Seeing that the confrontation had come to an end, Daniel naturally released his hold on Gordon and stepped backward.
The man was gritting his teeth furiously at the humiliation he was just put through.
His gaze flickered from Daniel's to the officers and finally to Kelsie who suddenly looked like she wasn't just the main character just now.
"You must think this is over, but I, Gordon Syklar, I will make you pay for this insult!"
After saying that, he stormed out in rage with his wife and son in tow.
The parents, who had informed the management of what was happening and made it out to be entirely Kelsie's fault, didn't know how to face her now.
They were proud people who rarely admitted their wrong. So instead of apologizing, they grabbed their children and directly hurried towards the theater.
In less than a minute, the only people who remained outside the park was Kelsie, the triplets, Daniel, and the four officers.
The middle-aged officer put away his notebook and glanced at Daniel. Then his eyes fell on the triplets who were standing beside him.
One look at Zade and he came to the quick conclusion that this was the father of the triplets.
Neither Kelsie nor Daniel knew what was going through his mint but Daniel, realizing this officer was on good terms with Kelsie and his children flashed him a faint smile.
Kelsie stepped bowed slightly to the officer and apologized, "Sorry to bother you for the second time today, officer. I'll be careful to end the rest of my night peacefully."
The man casually waved her aside, "Of course. Enjoy the rest of your day."
As soon as the officers left, Daniel turned around to leave as well, but someone suddenly pulled dragged him back to where he had been standing.
Kelsie folded her arms underneath her bosom and walked to stand in front of him.
As she peered into his face, he gulped down nervously, his eyes darting across everywhere that didn't have her face.
Seeing how nervous he was, the triplets mentally facepalmed themselves.
This uncle. He was being too obvious. At this rate, it'd take their mother nothing to figure out what they had been doing behind her back.
"Uncle Daniel. My children called you uncle Daniel just now. Didn't you say you were a stranger who happened to find them adorable?"
Upon hearing her straight to the point question, Daniel sucked in a deep breath and laughed nervously.
"Oh, that? You weren't listening earlier when I introduced myself to them."
Daniel thought he had gotten off the hook, but she still held him back.
"I may not look like it, but I'm always attentive with my children and I never heard you introduce yourself to them."
"Furthermore, didn't i tell you that day I don't want to see you anywhere near them?"
Daniel was first taken aback when he realized she recognized him, but huffed coldly the very next second, "Why should you be the only one who spends time with them? They have my bro…"
Before he could complete the word, Jesse hurriedly stepped forward and tugged Kelsie by the arm.
"Mommy, the movie has already started. We have to go now so we don't miss too much."
Kelsie glanced at him and nodded immediately, but before she hurried into the theater with them, she paused and gave him a warning look.
When she left, the man wrapped his arms around his body and trembled slightly from the cold.
"It's always so cold whenever I see her. Is the ozone layer getting worse or something?"
Meanwhile, Jett ended the phone call and glanced at the message containing their seat numbers Daniel had sent to him minutes ago.
He got out of the car and walked towards tbe theater to find Daniel waiting for him with two bowls of pop corns.
The two groups strolled up to the front row where their seats were located. But just as they were about to sit down, Jett raised his eyes and frowned slightly when he saw Kelsie sitting just beside him.
Two pairs of glossy eyes stared at him while the third child kept his eyes fixed on the screen in front of him.
As they had always done when they were abroad, the triplets always covered their faces with masks whenever they went to a public place like this.
But underneath the mask, Zade and Keira almost gasped out loud when they saw Jett.
They glanced at Jesse several times and even felt his face each time to be sure they weren't imaging things.
This man, why did he look so much like their brother?
He even had the same scowl Jesse often had whenever he was displeased with something.
This man was a grown-up version of their brother. And if he was the grown-up version of their brother, then there was no doubt about it.
This man is their daddy!
